City of Falcon Heights <br />City Council Minutes <br />May 10, 2000 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Gehrz at 7:02 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Gehrz, Lindstrom, Talbot. Also present: Heather Worthington, City <br />Administrator, Pat Phillips, Deputy Clerk, Terry Maurer, City Engineer, <br />Roger Knutson, City Attorney <br />ABSENT: Hustad, Kuettel <br />COMMUNITY FORUM: Ken Rockler, on behalf of Falcon Bowl, explained to <br />council the situation of the alcohol compliance check at Falcon Bowl on Mazch 23ra <br />Falcon Bowl was not denying that alcohol was served to a minor but the circumstances <br />were brought to council's attention. A check in payment of first violation was given to <br />the city. <br />Jamie Martinez on behalf of Connie Bernazdy, Mayor's Commission Against Drugs, <br />stepped forwazd to thank the city for its support of their programs and also gave a brief <br />report on underage alcohol use. <br />APPROVAL OF NIINUTES: The Apri126, 2000 minutes were approved as submitted. <br />• PUBLIC HEARING: Terry Maurer, City Engineer, explained that a notice was not <br />published in the local newspaper to inform residents of this public heazing so he advised <br />council to continue the heazing at the May 24 council meeting. Another assessment <br />notice will be sent to all affected residents who will be impacted by the alley <br />reconstruction. After brief questions by councilmembers Lindstrom and Talbot, Mayor <br />Gehrz opened the public heazing at 7:20 P.M. The only person to come forwazd asked a <br />question of Engineer Maurer inquiring how much additional footage would be torn up on <br />each side of the alleys. Maurer responded it would be 1 foot or so on each side. There <br />was no one else present to speak at the public hearing and Mayor Gehrz adjourned the <br />hearing to May 24, 2000 at or about 7 p.m. The two letters received by residents <br />objecting to their assessment will be responded to in writing. The public heazing was <br />adjourned at 7:23 p.m. <br />CONSENT AGENDA: <br />Councilmember Lindstrom moved to approve the following consent agenda. The motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />1. General disbursements <br />2. Request to approve tree trimming/removal contractor for 2000 <br />3. Request to approve the employment contract for the city administrator, effective April <br />• 15, 2000. <br />
