MINUTES <br />JANUARY 9, 1991 <br />PAGE 2 <br />RESOLUTION R-91-2 <br />A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING OFFICIAL CITY SIGNATURES <br />DESIGNATION OF OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER FOR 1991 <br />Ciernia moved that Post Publication's The Focus be designated as <br />the official newspaper for the year 1991. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />COUNCIL STANDING RULES REAFFIRMED <br />Gehrz moved that the City Council Standing Rules be reaffirmed <br />as presently written. Motion carried unanimously. <br />ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE 0-91-1 RELATING TO UNIFORM FIRE CODE <br />Baldwin explained that the present code cites the 1973 Uniform <br />Fire Code and it is necessary to amend the date to read "1988", <br />after which Jacobs moved adoption of Ordinance 0-91-1. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE 0-91-1 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-3.02, SUBDIVISION <br />1 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE <br />APPROVAL OF PUBLIC SCHOOL FIRE INSPECTION AGREEMENT <br />Baldwin informed Council that a new State ruling is now in place <br />requiring that there be a signed agreement between the City and <br />the Department of Public Safety in order for the City's Fire <br />Marshal to continue annual inspections at Falcon Heights <br />Elementary School. Ciernia moved approval of the contract and <br />authorization to sign the same. Motion carried unanimously. <br />COUNCIL ASSIGNMENTS FOR 1991 APPROVED <br />Council approved the Mayor's Council Assignments by unanimous <br />consent. <br />ITEM REGARDING CONTRACT FOR RECYCLING SERVICES DEFERRED TO <br />1/23/91 MEETING <br />Chenoweth explained that proposals have been received from five <br />firms but no decision has been made on a recommendation to <br />Council as the proposals require further evaluation by the Solid <br />Waste Commission and staff. A recommendation will be placed on <br />the January 23rd Council Agenda for consideration. <br />SCHEDULING OF COUNCIL PLANNING SESSION DEFERRED TO 1/23/91 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />Council agreed that a Planning Session is desired, however <br />deferred establishing a date and particulars until the January <br />23rd meeting. <br />~+G <br />
