MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />AUGUST 12, 1981 <br />PAGE 5 <br />prepare a renovation study which would not be too costly. Engineer <br />Lemberg replied that it would be possible to do a small study for <br />approximately $1,000. Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Mayor <br />Warkentien, that the City Engineer arrange for a small study on the <br />renovation of the interior and exterior of the Liquor Store and make <br />the information available at the September 9, 1981 Council Meeting. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />J <br />LIQUOR STOR <br />(cont.) <br />Mayor Warkentien informed Council that the Ramsey County Board has YOUTH <br />indicated the County will not budget for participation in the North SERVICE <br />Suburban Youth Service Bureau in 1982. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded BUREAU <br />by Councilmember Steele, that Resolution 8I-9 be adopted requesting <br />that Ramsey County budget for participation in the Youth Service Bureau. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION 81-9 <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE RAMSEY COUNTY BOARD TO <br />INCLUDE IN THE COUNTY 1982 BUDGET SUFFICIENT FUNDS <br />FOR PARTICIPATION ZN THE NORTHWEST SUBURBAN YOUTH <br />SERVICE BUREAU <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes requested that Council consider the passage <br />of Resolution 81-10 providing for the rate of reimbursement for removal <br />of diseased trees following the guidelines used in the past. Council- <br />member Eggert suggested that a new method be considered such as the <br />City contracting with one tree removal firm for. the entire year. Follow- <br />ing the discussion the Clerk Administrator was directed to obtain from <br />other communities additional information on the matter. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed that without the adoption of <br />Resolution 81-10 the City would not be reimbursed for 1981 under the <br />State Shade Tree Program. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Council- <br />memb er Brown, that Resolution 81-ZO be adopted. Motion carried unani- <br />mously. <br />RESOLUTION 81-10 <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF ASSISTANCE <br />FOR SHADE TREE SANITATION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY <br />UNDER MINNESOTA STATUTE 18.023 <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes informed that he had contacted Northern States <br />Power regarding the installation of 5 street lights on Larpenteur (be- <br />tween Fairview and Fulham) and that the cost of installation would be <br />$120.00. Councilmember Eggert objected to the immediate installation <br />of the lights as he felt there should be some uniform criteria establi- <br />shed in the event other areas request additional lighting. The Clerk <br />Administrator was directed to obtain information to establish-a policy <br />for placement of lights when requests are received. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown, that the 5 <br />lights on Larpenteur between Fairview and Fulham be installed at a cost <br />of $120.00. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilmembers Steele and Brown,, and the following voted <br />against the motion: Councilmember Eggert. Motion carried. <br />
