<br /> <br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITX'COUNCIL 1`~EETING_ <br />DECEi~B:ER 14, 1983 <br />PAGE 5 <br />~. ~ ~`t <br />Council reviewed a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Frank I. Skog, 1607 Maple FRANK SKOG <br />Knoll Drive, regarding traffic noise on Snelling Avenue and the possibility 1607 MAPLE <br />of closing the Garden Ave. entrance on the west side of Snelling. The <br />- KNOLL, LETTER <br />Clerk Administrator <br />was directed to advise Mr, and Mrs. Skog that a RE: SNELLING <br />neighborhood petition be prepared addressing the matter. TRAFFIC NOISE <br />Councilmember-Larson reviewed the Fire Department's request that they FIRE DEPT. <br />be excused from obtaining dram shop insurance and hiring a police officer- REQUEST TO BE <br />if they serve intoxicating liquor at their Christmas party on December EXCUSED FROM <br />18, 1983. After a discussion, Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by DRAM SHOP <br />Mayor Warkentien, that the request be denied. Motion carried unanimously. REQUIREMENT <br /> DENIED <br />Councilmember Larson referred to a letter dated December l4, 1983 from <br />Attorney William B. Korstad requesting the City place the warning WM. KORSTAD <br />siren away from all apartments and residences. Mr. Korstad indicated LETTER <br />that 128 decibels is too-high to be near residences and could cause REGARDING <br />ear damage. The matter was deferred to the December 28, 1983 meeting. SIREN PLACE- <br /> MENT <br /> DEFERRED <br />Mayor Warkentien informed Council that the Citizens League has drafted <br /> <br />legislation which would ban the use of industrial revenue bonds for CITIZENS <br /> <br />the purpose `the City is presently proposing. LEAGUE STAND <br /> ON IDR BONDS <br />Councilmember Chestovich moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson, that ADJOURNMENT <br />the meeting be adjourned at 10:00 p.m. Motion carried unanimously. <br />~. <br />'C/ .~~~. ~~ lam( , ~ ~> ~ <br />Willis C.
