MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MARCH 8, 1978 <br />Page 5 <br />Mayor Warkentien read a letter received from Pat Pothen LETTER - <br />of 1807 N. Hamline complimenting our rescue squad on PAT POTHEN <br />their service and care of her mother on Feb. 15, 1978. <br />Councilman McGough moved, seconded by Councilperson Brown MINUTES OF <br />to approve the minutes of February 22, 1978 as corrected FEB. 22, 1978 <br />and amended. Upon a vote being taken the following voted <br />"aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, <br />Steele and Brown and the following voted "nay": None. <br />Motion carried. <br />3 <br />Councilman McGough reported the tree committee met with TREE MEETING <br />only three members present. It was noted that the REPORT <br />current list of members on file required an update as <br />some members do not care to serve on the committee this <br />year. Clerk Administrator Barnes was requested to up- <br />date the records for the 1978 committee directory. <br />i <br />Mayor Warkentien moved the appointment of Henrietta Thom PARK DEVELOP- <br />to the Park Development Committee, Councilman McGough MENT COMMITTEE <br />seconded. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted HENRIETTA THOM <br />"aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, <br />Steele and Brown the following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Councilman McGough brought up for discussion the wages <br />for the Councilmembers and Mayor. After discussion by <br />council, matter was deferred to March 22, 1978. <br />COUNCIL WAGES <br />'~] <br />Engineer Lemberg reported on a meeting he had attended <br />regarding the street lighting system. Lighting cost <br />returned to Falcon Heights would be $3,152.00 which is <br />an increase of $852.00. There will be another meeting <br />of the City Engineers on the 29th of March, 1978. At <br />the meeting Ramsey County's five year construction plans <br />were also discussed. The Roselawn Avenue project was <br />discussed and showed community participation. At this <br />point, construction will be Fairview to Snelling. In <br />1979 they plan on Fairview Avenue to Cleveland Avenue, <br />again there would be municipal participation with state <br />aid. <br />Councilperson Brown reported on the recreation committee <br />meeting .held on March 7, 1978. The committee is preparing <br />a door to door flyer with information of the programs <br />being considered for Falcon Heights/Lauderdale to see <br />what interest is generated on the proposed programs and <br />what equipment is available at our parks. <br />STREET LIGHTIN( <br />SYSTEM <br />RECREATION <br />MEETING <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes made note the assessment roll IDAHO AVENUE <br />had been prepared and distributed for council information CURB ~ GUTTER <br />with a list of the names and amounts due. The public ASSESSMENT <br />hearing on the Idaho Avenue Curb 8 Gutter Improvement <br />which has been published, has been set for 8:00 p.m., <br />March 22, 1978 at the regular city council meeting. <br />
