MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 8, 1978 Page 5 Mayor Warkentien read a letter received from Pat Pothen LETTER - of 1807 N. Hamline complimenting our rescue squad on PAT POTHEN their service and care of her mother on Feb. 15, 1978. Councilman McGough moved, seconded by Councilperson Brown MINUTES OF to approve the minutes of February 22, 1978 as corrected FEB. 22, 1978 and amended. Upon a vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. 3 Councilman McGough reported the tree committee met with TREE MEETING only three members present. It was noted that the REPORT current list of members on file required an update as some members do not care to serve on the committee this year. Clerk Administrator Barnes was requested to up- date the records for the 1978 committee directory. i Mayor Warkentien moved the appointment of Henrietta Thom PARK DEVELOP- to the Park Development Committee, Councilman McGough MENT COMMITTEE seconded. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted HENRIETTA THOM "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, Steele and Brown the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. Councilman McGough brought up for discussion the wages for the Councilmembers and Mayor. After discussion by council, matter was deferred to March 22, 1978. COUNCIL WAGES '~] Engineer Lemberg reported on a meeting he had attended regarding the street lighting system. Lighting cost returned to Falcon Heights would be $3,152.00 which is an increase of $852.00. There will be another meeting of the City Engineers on the 29th of March, 1978. At the meeting Ramsey County's five year construction plans were also discussed. The Roselawn Avenue project was discussed and showed community participation. At this point, construction will be Fairview to Snelling. In 1979 they plan on Fairview Avenue to Cleveland Avenue, again there would be municipal participation with state aid. Councilperson Brown reported on the recreation committee meeting .held on March 7, 1978. The committee is preparing a door to door flyer with information of the programs being considered for Falcon Heights/Lauderdale to see what interest is generated on the proposed programs and what equipment is available at our parks. STREET LIGHTIN( SYSTEM RECREATION MEETING Clerk Administrator Barnes made note the assessment roll IDAHO AVENUE had been prepared and distributed for council information CURB ~ GUTTER with a list of the names and amounts due. The public ASSESSMENT hearing on the Idaho Avenue Curb 8 Gutter Improvement which has been published, has been set for 8:00 p.m., March 22, 1978 at the regular city council meeting.
