MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY c;OUTJc:IL MEETING <br />OCTOBER 11, 1978 <br />Page 7 <br />Attorney Kenefick advised the Council the law specifically <br />states it is illegal as the law defines it as gambling. <br />Councilrnemoer T~icGough explained to the Council the Firemen <br />had informed him of their intent and it was his mistake in <br />not mentioning it to Council for their opinion. <br />Council advised Councilmember McGough to inform the Fire <br />Department to stop selling tickets for an ambulance with draw- <br />ing to 'oe made for prizes as it is illegal. <br />Engineer Lemberg advised the Council that Amoco has agreed to <br />a barricade between their property and Hermes property. It <br />shall be a treated timber as follows: 8 inch square post set <br />6 feet on center with two 2" by 12" boards affixed to them at <br />a height of 21~". Engineer Lemberg explained this type of <br />barricade would be more durable than any other type of barricade. <br />Engineer Lemberg suggested to the Council that the Engineer and <br />Attorney appear at Council meetings once a month to minimize <br />expenditures. The Council concurred and suggested it be the <br />first meeting of the month. <br />~~~ <br />AMBULAiJCE ( cont. ) <br />BARRIER <br />AMOCO STATION <br />LARPENTEUR & <br />SNELLING <br />Iiayor 1nlarkentien moved, seconded by Councilmember McGouh to i~TEETING EXTENDED <br />extend the meeting to 11:15 P.M. Upon a roll call the following TO 11:15 P.M. <br />voted "aye": Mayor w'arkentien, Councilmembers Black, McGough, <br />Steele and Brown and the following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Councilmember Steele suggested the Council set up some guide <br />lines on future discussions on matters before the Council when <br />citizens are asked for input. <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded 'oy Councilmember Brown ADJOURNMENT <br />to adjourn the meeting at 11:05 P.M. Upon a vote the follow- <br />ing voted in favor: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Black, <br />McGough, Steele and Brown, and the following voted "nay": None. <br />T~Iotion carried. <br />~'~ ~ <br />Yvillis C.
