MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL FETING <br />DECEMBER 13, 1978 <br />Page 6 <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown, to <br />award the 1979 Liquor Liability insurance to Carl Bennetsen, agent <br />for Professional Writers, Inc., also representing Stonewall Insurance <br />Company, which provides the low rate of $3,56i~ based on $x.00,000 <br />gross receipts of liquor sales. Upon a roll call vote the following <br />voted ~~aye~T: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers TYIcGough, Steele and <br />Brown, and the following voted "nay~~: None. Councilmember Black <br />abstained. Motion carried. <br />Councilmember Black moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, to award <br />the balance of the 1979 insurance to Paul Brener Ins. Co., repre- <br />senting Home Insurance, for an approximate amount of $1l~,191.00. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />1~~ <br />CITY & LIQUOR <br />LIABILITY INS. <br />1979 (cont.) <br />Fire Chief Renchin submitted to Council a financial report on opera- At~ULANCE FOR <br />tion of an ambulance versus the use of afire truck for rescue and RESCUE <br />the possible charges for rescue at $65.00. He requested Council CHTEF RENCHIN <br />consider making application for funds for an ambulance through <br />State funding and donations. <br />Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember McGough to <br />authorize the Fire Chief to proceed with the acquisition of an <br />ambulance, providing the City of Falcon Heights does not incur at~y <br />costs. Motion carried. <br />Council deferred the hiring of a planner to do the Comprehensive HIRING OF PLANNEb <br />Plan until the meeting of December 27, 1978;. DEFEtii~tED <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes obtained three quotations for a copy- BIDS ON NEW <br />ing machine and recommended the 3 M Secretary Dry Copier at $1,095.00. COPIER SUBMITTED <br />Savin had submitted a bid at $3,595.00 plus $53.35 installation but 3 M SECRETARY <br />also required a maintenance contract. A.B.Dick submitted a bid COPIER TO BE <br />for a comparable machine at $l~,995.00. PURCHASED <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, to extend <br />the meeting to 12:00 Midnight. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, to autho- <br />rize the Clerk Administrator to purchase a 3 M Secretary Dry Copier <br />at $1,095.00 and to charge the Liquor Fund one-third of the cost and <br />two-thirds of the cost to the Sanitary Sewer Fund. Upon a vote being <br />taken the following voted ~~aye«: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers <br />Black, McGough and. Brown, and the following voted ~'nay~~: None. <br />Councilmember Steele abstained. Motion carried. <br />Council authorized Clerk Administrator Barnes to take 1~ days of <br />vacation December 1?~ and 15, 1978. <br />MEETING EXTENDED <br />TO 12:00 MID- <br />NIGHT <br />Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Councilmember Black to BIDS ACCEPTED <br />authorize the Mayor and Clerk Administrator to sign the request of FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />Ramsey County accepting the bids on the construction of Roselawn OF ROSELAbJN AVE. <br />Avenue from Snelling to Fairview Avenue. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
