~~ MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 2~, 1979 <br />Page 2 <br />Councilmember Black arrived during this discussion at approximately COUNCILMEMBER <br />7:50 p.m. BLACK ARRIVES <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown to POLICING (cont.) <br />authorize the Mayor and Councilmember McGough to present to <br />the Lauderdale Council the proposed joint policing contract for <br />the Lauderdale Council's consideration. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes presented to Council plans for the HERMES FIARAL <br />Hermes Floral expansion which is now in progress. 1750 LARD. <br />A discussion was held regarding the lights which have been turned LIGHTS ON <br />off on th® County Roads. Council and the Clerk Administrator will COUNTY ROADS <br />meet at 6:15 February 11~, 1979, prior to the council meeting, and <br />inspect the lighting situation. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes reported on the Section 8 Housing and SECTION 8 <br />informed Council of the amount of reimbursement to date. The HOUSING <br />balance still due has been submitted to Metro HRA by Erma Olson, <br />HRA Specialist. -} <br />Councilmeanber McGough sugg®ated that the Councilmeaabers should COUNCIL SALARIES <br />have an increase in salary. After some discussion it was decided DEFERRED TO <br />to defer the matter until September. SEPTEMBER, 1979 <br />Mayor Warkentien read a letter from the St. Paul Water Department WATER GATE VALVE <br />stating they feel a water gate is needed on the hydrant at Ruggles RuGGLES & SHELL <br />and Snelling. Councilmember McGough moved, seconded by Council- <br />memiber Steele, to reject the proposal for a water gate at Ruggles <br />and Snelling. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Warkentien presented a letter from the League of Minnesota <br />Cities stating that the week of February 26 - March 2, 1979 will <br />be Minnesota Cities Week, and asking the City of Falcon Heights to <br />adopt a resolution of participation. Mayor Warkentien moved, <br />seconded by Councilmember to adopt Resolution 79-7. ' <br />RESOLUTION 79-? RESOLUTION 79-7 <br />MINN. Motion carried unanimously;. <br />A discussion as held regarding maintenance at the liquor store. LIQUOR STORT <br />Also it was suggested that a City bulletin board be placed near DISCUSSION <br />the entrance of the liquor store for advertising liquor store <br />items or notices of community interest. <br />
