MINUTES ~ ~~ <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OCTOBER 8, 1980 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown that the MINUTES OF <br />Minutes of the Special Meeting of September 17, 1980 be approved as 9/17/80 <br />presented. Motion carried unanimously. APPROVED <br />Councilmember Brown moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson that the MINUTES OF <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 24, 1980 be approved as 9/24/80 <br />corrected. Motion carried unanimously. APPROVED <br />Councilmember Larson presented for Council's consideration a Condi- COND. USE <br />tional Use request from S. W. Hart, 1488 Crawford, to build a utility APPROVID <br />shed on his lot. The Planning Commission had discussed the matter and UTILITY SHED <br />recommended that the request be granted. After a short discussion S. W. HART <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Steele that the 1488 CRAWFORD <br />Conditional Use be granted. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilmember Larson presented to Council a request for Conditional CONDITIONAL US <br />Use and Variance from Edwin L. Schmidt, 1746 Albert, to build a APPROVID <br />utility shed 3 feet from the lot line. During the ensuing dis- UTILITY SHED <br />cussion it was pointed out that the Schmidt lot is a very large E. L. SCHMIDT <br />lot and the utility shed could easily be placed within the re4_uire- 1746 ALBERT <br />ments of the Zoning Ordinance. Councilmember Eggert moved, <br />seconded by Councilmember Brown that the Conditional Use be <br />granted. Motion carried unanimouly. <br />Councilmember Eggert moved, seconded by Councilmember Brown that SCHMIDT <br />the request for a Variance be denied. Motion carried unanimously. VARIANCE DENIE <br />Councilmember Larson informed Council that at the Planning Commis- <br />sion Meeting of October 6, 1980 that body reviewed the proposed <br />billboard ordinance and recommended its adoption with one possible <br />change, i.e.striking Sections 14.1 (4.5) through 14.1 (4.8) rather <br />than 14.1 (4.5) through 14.1 (4.9). Councilmember Larson moved, <br />seconded by Councilmember Steele that Ordinance #174 be adopted <br />with the change recommended by the Planning Commission, and that <br />publication of same be authorized. Motion carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE ~~174 ORDINANCE 4174 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 64 OF THE <br />CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS, AS AMENDED, PERTAINING <br />TO ADVERTISING SIGNS <br />Councilmember Larson opened for discussion the proposed swimming PROPOSID <br />pool ordinance which had been reviewed by the Planning Commission SWIl~AIING POOL <br />at their meeting of October 6, 1980. During the discussion Council ORDINANCE <br />questioned the fence height requirements and the impact the re- TABLED AWAITIN <br />troactivity section would have on residents with existing pools. FURTHER <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that the INFORMATION <br />matter be tabled until a survey of existing pools can be made and <br />any concerned pool owners be invited to attend the November 3, 1980 <br />r Planning Commission Meeting for discussion and input. Motion carried <br />' unanimously. <br />Mayor Warkentien informed Council that he had reviewed variance FLASHING SIGNS <br />requests for flashing signs which have been denied in the past <br />
