If it is a BLS call, Falcon Heights will respond with <br />two to four members. If it is an ALS call, St. Paul Fire will respond with a paramedic <br />unit. A Falcon Heights BLS crew of two will also respond. This arrangement will be <br />modified after the license is approved, at which time there will be no BLS response to <br />an ALS case unless it is a cardiac arrest. <br />St. Paul Fire EMS Chief Dave Huisenga, Falcon Heights Fire Chief Nick Baumann, and <br />St. Anthony Patrol Captain Jack Thoemke all reported that the partnership has been <br />working well. <br />REPORT FROM THE FALCON HEIGHTS FIRE DEPARTMENT ON THE PLAN TO <br />IMPLEMENT A CALL SCHEDULE <br />1 <br />~~ <br />Administrator Hoyt reported that the Fire Department is in the process of developing a <br />call schedule to restrict the number of personnel at the scene of a medical emergency. <br />Falcon Heights Fire Chief Nick Baumann reported that the department is formalizing the <br />procedures for two to four members to respond to BLS calls and two members only to <br />respond to ALS calls. This call schedule will become effective on January 15, 1997. <br />INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />Administrator Hoyt publicly thanked Chief Baumann and former Chief Kurhajetz for their <br />work on creating an effective partnership with St. Paul Fire. She also noted for the <br />viewing audience that, while Larpenteur Avenue will be reconstructed over the next two <br />years, only those persons with property abutting Larpenteur will be assessed for project <br />costs. <br />Mayor Gehrz announced that Falcon Heights would be featured in a Pioneer Press article <br />on Monday, December 9, 1997. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:08 p.m. <br />Carla Asleson <br />Recording Secretary <br />Susan L.
