CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS ~~ <br />SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 18, 1996 <br />Mayor Gehrz called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. <br />PRESENT <br />Mayor Gehrz, Councilmembers Jacobs, Kuettel, Hustad. Also Administrator Hoyt. <br />ABSENT <br />Gibson Talbot <br />CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Jacobs to approve the following consent <br />agenda. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Request to till the position of parks and public works superintendent <br />1 <br />POLICY AGENDA <br />SELECTION OF MEDIA COLORS FOR LARPENTEUR AVENUE <br />Michael Schroeder, the landscape architect for the Larpenteur Avenue project, presented three options for <br />color for the concrete median. The council discussed the options but came to no conclusion. <br />REQUEST TO RENEGOTIATE THE RECYCLING CONTRACT <br /> <br />Councilmember Jacobs explained that the Solid Waste Commission is asking the council to approve the <br />recommendation that staff start with renegotiating the recycling contract with E-Z Recycling rather than <br />going out for RFP's. E-Z has been a good provider and the RFP approach can be used if negotiating doesn't <br />work. The council discussed getting two costs -one with cereal boxes and one without cereal boxes. <br />Councilmember Jacobs said that there currently is not a good market for recyclables. Hustad moved to <br />renegotiate the contract.
