<br />read the minutes of the Planning Commissio~~ meeting of June 9, 1975 that
<br />recommended approval.
<br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Black, to approve the
<br />variance. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor
<br />Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and Labalestra, and the
<br />following voted "nay": None. Motion carried.

<br />Mr. James R. Hildebrand, 1433 West Iowa Avenue, was present to discuss HILDEBRAND
<br />the possibility of having the City provide "Caution - Deaf Child" signs REQUEST FOR
<br />for his four-year-old deaf daughter. A discussion followed, and Engineer "CAUTION - DEAF
<br />Lemberg noted this type of sign is not a uniform sign. CHILD" SIGNS
<br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, to authorize
<br />the installation of one sign between Pascal and Albert on Iowa, and two
<br />signs on each end of the alley. Upon a vote being taken, the following
<br />voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and
<br />Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried.

<br />Councilman Black presented the discussion on the variance request of VARIANCE REQUEST
<br />Frank Skog, 1607 Maple Kno11 Drive, for the construction of a five foot
<br />ornamental fence for privacy on the east side of the lot. He then read
<br />the minutes of the Planning Commission meeting of June 9, 1975 that
<br />recommended approval.
<br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Steele, to approve the
<br />variance request. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye":

<br />Councilman Black presented the discussion on the variance request of CHARLES C.
<br />Charles C. Peterman, 1407 West Iowa, for a one foot side-yard variance PETERMAN

<br />The request of Mr. Hermes for a "One Way - Do Not Enter" traffic sign MR. HERI~IES
<br />was discussed by the Council. It was noted the Council would have no REQUEST FOx
<br />jurisdiction for placing signs on private property. The Council then TRAFFIC SIGN
<br />requested this be discussed at the next meeting.
<br />The signs requested for the Falcon Heights Community Park were di s- SIGNS REQUESTEll
<br />cussed by the Council. A lengthy discussion followed and it was Fox FALCON
<br />suggested that the Park adopt the general signs and regulations of FIGHTS
<br />surrounding communities and their par~n. The Council requested Clerk- COMMUNITY
<br />Administrator Barnes to have data by the next meeting. No action taken. PARK
<br />A discussion was held relative to the City of 5t. Paul's request for
<br />Falcon Heights to participate in their project V0465, Street Lighting
<br />on Snelling Avenue from Midway Parkway to Hoyt Avenue. A discussion
<br />followed, the general consensus being the City of Falcon Heights
<br />would not sufficiently benefit to warrant participation. Councilman
