to (,v <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA <br />JUNE 10, 1976 <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called <br />to order by Mayor Warkentien at 7:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Ecklund and Labalestra. Also <br />present were Clerk-Administrator Barnes, Engineer Cook, and <br />Attorney Galvin. <br />Councilmen Black and Steele. Councilman Steele arrived late. <br />PRESENT <br />ABSENT <br />Moved by Councilman Ecklund, seconded by Councilman Labalestra APPROVAL OF <br />to approve the Minutes of May 27, 1976, as submitted. Upon a MINUTES: <br />vote being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, MAY 27, 1976 <br />Councilmen Ecklund and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": <br />None. Motion carried. <br />1 <br />Gary Mueller, former University of Minnesota student, has pre- <br />pared a report dealing with recreational needs and site planning <br />in the City of Falcon Heights. He reviewed his report using <br />slides showing the present condition of the Idaho-Snelling Park <br />and offered proposed recommendations for the improvement of its <br />facilities and the park site. The report, illustrations, and <br />the result of the survey are on file in the Clerk-Administrator's <br />office. <br />Paul Kurpiewski, 15l~3 Iowa, living east of the park, said that <br />he felt the holding pond constituted a health hazard and was also <br />a danger to drowning. H® stated that he felt a baseball diamond <br />could be constructed, along with a one-half court basketball area. <br />~`."°' Mr. Kurpiewski also was in favor of maintaining a hockey rink at <br />the Park. <br />Robert 3utula, 1530 West Iowa, stated his children used the Park <br />frequently, and he would like to ses it improved. <br />Drainage problems at the area of the Park were discussed. It was <br />suggested that a representative of the Highway Department be con- <br />tacted in order to discuss improving the matter of water drainage. <br />RECREATIONAL <br />SURVEY FINAL <br />REPORT: GARY <br />MUELLER <br />The Mayor expressed his appreciation for the park excavation work APPRECIATION <br />donated by Peter McGough, 1977 Summer, and other citizens who FOR PARK <br />have helped to develop the flower beds at the Community Park. EXCAVATION <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Ecklund, seconded by Councilman Labalestra CONSENT <br />to approve the following items: AGENDA <br />1. Fire Reports, Nos. ~.1 and l~2; <br />2.
