MINUTES <br />REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 13, 1977 <br />Pie 5 <br />a~- <br />c~.,J <br />Councilman Labalestra moved and it was seconded by Mayor Warkentien APPOINTMENT OF <br />to appoint Larry Squires as Building Inspector for 1977. Upon a BUILDING INSP., <br />vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, LARRY SQUIRES <br />Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following <br />voted "nay" None. Motion carried. <br />The appointanent of City Horticulturist was deferred by Council APPT. OF CITY <br />until such time as Clerk-Administrator Barnes could contact HORTICULTURIST <br />Dr. French to see if he is interested in the position. DEFERRED <br />Councilman Ecklund moved and it was seconded by Councilman Black to APPOINTMENT OF <br />appoint Richard Alquist as Plumbing Inspector for 1977. Upon a PLUMBING INSP. <br />vote being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, RICHARD ALQUIST <br />Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following <br />voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved and it was seconded by Councilman Labalestra APPOINTMENT OF <br />to appoint Charles P. Stone as Tax Cpnsultant for 1977. Upon a vote TAX CONSULTANT <br />being taken the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen CHARLES P. STONE <br />Black, Ecklund, Steele and Labalestra and the following voted "nay": <br />None. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien read his rough draft of the Councilmen's assignments COUNCILMEN'S <br />for the year of 1977. He will have the list of assignments in com- ASSIGNMENT 1977 <br />pleted form at the next meeting. <br />Councilman Ecklund suggested that the Sheriff's Department and the SUGGESTIONS TO <br />Deputy on duty be provided with a list of owners of Falcon Heights IMPROVE DEPUTIES <br />business establishments and apartment buildings so as to aid the FUNCTIONS <br />officers on night duty in contacting owners in case something <br />happens at those establishments. <br />Mr. Dan Bucholtz of the North Suburban Chamber of Commerce appeared <br />before Council to get endorsement for a new program the Chamber is <br />setting up. The project is called "Reward". It is a project whereby <br />private donated funds will be paid out anonimously to people who call <br />in with information leading to the apprehension of criminals. The <br />North Suburban Chamber of Commerce expects the program to get under <br />way about mid-May of this year. The Chamber will shortly be sending <br />literature to the Council which will more fully describe the program <br />and at that time the Chamber would like to be put on the agenda and <br />come before Council requesting formal endorsement. <br />Councilman Ecklund noted that the codification of the City Ordin- <br />ances has not been completed and put forth suggestions for com- <br />pleting the project. It was decided that Clerk Administrator <br />Barnes would go over the codification and then forward it to <br />Attorney Kenefick for his finalization. <br />PROJECT "REWARD" <br />N0. SUB. He said he believes it would be beneficial STOP SIGN AT <br />to have afour-way stop sign at that corner. He asked that this item ROSELAWN AND <br />be put on the agenda for next meeting.
