MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING ~{~ <br />SEPTEMBER 8, 1977 e7 <br />Page 5 <br />Councilman Black informed council that he was in <br />receipt of a parking lot proposal from N. L. Hermes, <br />1755 St. Marys, on Lot 7 of the Crossroads which <br />they own north of the shopping center. After a <br />discussion on the proposal, the following motion <br />was made: Councilman Black moved, seconded by <br />Mayor Warkentien to direct the Clerk Administrator <br />to write Mr. Hermes that the following requirements <br />under Ordinance 64 must be met before submitting to <br />council. <br />1. Comply with Section 14.2 (2.8)e of Ordinance <br />64 which requires in a B-2 district, adjacent <br />to an R district have a 10 foot set back. <br />This would require the north and west line to <br />have a 10 foot set back. <br />2. Comply with Section 14.2 (3.9) of Ordinance <br />64 which requires screening when off street <br />parking is adjacent to a R district and plans <br />shall be submitted showing details of such <br />screening. <br />3. Comply with all other requirements relating <br />to parking lots, especially traffic flow, <br />area to be provided for each vehicle, and <br />material relative to construction. <br />Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, McGough and <br />Labalestra. The following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. Councilman Steele was absent. <br />Council discussed pornography ordinances other <br />communities were adopting and requested Attorney <br />John Kenefick to review the possibility of Falcon <br />Heights council adopting a similar ordinance. <br />Attorney Kenefick mentioned to council he would get <br />copies of other city ordinances and review them for <br />consideration. <br />Clerk Administrator Barnes noted to council that <br />registration for hockey and figure skating will be <br />held on September 30, 1977 at the City Hall, 6:30 <br />to 8:30 p.m. Clerk Administrator Barnes also re- <br />quested authorization to pay $399.00 to Oscar Johnson <br />Arena for the 38 hours scheduled for figure skating <br />which is $10.50 per hour to apply towards the total <br />bill of $1,349.00. The balance will be paid from <br />registration fees. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded <br />by Councilman McGough. Upon a vote being taken, the <br />following voted "aye: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen <br />Black, McGough and Labalestra. The following voted <br />"nay": None. Motion carried.
