3 <br /> <br />C <br />1 <br />MEETING OF MARCH 11, 1971 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. with the following members <br />present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Stone and Taylor. Also <br />present were Clerk Printon, Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Seed. <br />Minutes: Stone moved that the minutes of the February 25, 1971 <br />meeting be approved as corrected. Ecklund seconded and <br />the motion carried. <br />Reinstatement of At the March 3, 1971 meeting of the Relief Association of <br />Volunteer Firemen the Falcon Heights Fire Department the following members <br />in Excess of Twenty were reinstated by a vote of the Fire Department to serve <br />Years Service: in excess of twenty years with the department. <br />Warkentien moved that the following members be approved <br />for reinstatement by the Council: <br />Victor Hermes Gerald Baden <br />Ernest Woehrle Robert Dowdell <br />Henry Dachtera <br />Stone seconded and the motion carried. <br />1970 Cash Balances - A report was received from Carl Pearson and Company, <br />Accounts No. 1-r': Certified Public Accountants, listing the amounts of <br />cash balance in accounts No. 1 through 7, as of December <br />31, 19 70 . <br />Correspondence <br />Read: <br />Refuse Haulers <br />License: <br />Garnet's Standard <br />Service Station <br />Renodeling Plans: <br />Justice of the <br />Peace Application: <br />Fire Report: <br />Various letters of correspondence were read and ordered <br />filed. <br />Taylor moved that the application submitted by Charles A. <br />Wegner, Dispos-0 Waste, 1100 Searle, St. Paul, Minnesota, <br />be approved. Ecklund seconded and the motion carried. <br />Black moved that the remodeling plans submitted by Garnet's <br />Standard Service Station, 1691 North Snelling Avenue, be <br />approved. Stone seconded and the motion carried. <br />An application was submitted for the position of Justice <br />of the Peace by James H. Leviton, 18t~5 West Larpenteur <br />Avenue, Law Student from the University of Minnesota. <br />Ecklund read Fire Report No. 71-3. <br />Human Rights Warkentien moved that the resignation of Mrs. Betty Irish, <br />Commission 1387 Englewood Avenue, submitted to the Council, be ac- <br />Resignation: cepted. Mrs. Irish has moved from the Village. Taylor <br />seconded and the motion carried. <br />Calculator Stone moved that the Village purchase an Olivetti Ca1cu- <br />Purchase: lator for the quoted price of $382.9t~, out of the sewer <br />fund. Taylor seconded and the motion carried. <br />
