~~ MINUTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL r~ETING FALCON HEIGHTS, MITJNESOTA SEPTEMBER 12, 1972 A special meeting of the Falcon Heights Council was called to order by Mayor ~tiTarkentien, at 8:10 P.l~T. Councilwoman Also present were Clerk-Administrator ABSENT : TJone I'u~.msey County TOPICS T'Tr. and Mrs. Donald Itoy, 13Z~9 West California Avenue Program - Fte: Hamline -and TTr. and T~Trs. T~arvin DeTfIartino, 13L.~5 ti°~est California Larpenteur Avenues Avenue were present at the meeting to discuss their Left Turn Lanes: opposition to the l~arnsey County TOPICS Program plans to initiate a left turn lane and a median strip on Hamline Avernze onto Larpenteur Avenue, and also ob- jected to trees being removed on Hamline Avenue. I~Tr. DeT~Tartino related he wouldn't be able to drive into his garage without going all the way around the block because he has a curved driveway. RTayor ti~~arkentien attended a regular Ramsey County Board meeting on September 11, 1972, and he presented the problem of the residents and their objections to the left turn lanes, and also the removal of trees on Hamline Avenue. NTayor T~~arkentien reported that the work had been stopped. Mr. Roy would like the minutes to show that in behalf of the residents of the Hamline-Larpenteur area, he is expressing his ap~.reciation of the attendance of Tlayor ti~'arkentien at the meeting of the Ramsey County Board on September 11. 1972, presenting the objections of the residents. ~Zesolution Rescinding Mayor ti•~'arkentien introduced the following l~.esolution a Resolution Adopted and moved its adoption: Previously - 72-~- Resolution 72-27: P~,:~LUTION 72-27 T?ESflLUTION ~tESCINDING THE PREVIOUS MOTION OF Nlia$I'ING OF JATdUAtLY' 27. 1972, APPI~VING THE ;,AT~ISEY COUNTY TOPICS PROGIiAT~i PLANS SUBT~TITTED FOi~ THE ALTE:~ING OF LA~ZPETdTEUR AVr~it7L FROT•T EUSTIS STI'Fi~T TO DALE STP,.EET The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Kesolution was seconded by Councilman Stone, and upon a vote beir~ taken thereon, the follot~ing voted in favor thereof : T•Iayor j~arlcentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Stone, and the follotrit~ voted against: Tdone, ~^~Ihereupon the l~.esolution teas declared duly passed and adopted.
