J. TrJesley "delson, Falcon <br />Heights' delegates to the Ramsey County Route Ridership <br />Commission, were present and stated that they had atten- <br />ded the first meeting of the commission.. Some of the <br />basic goals of the committee will be to increase bus <br />service throughout the county, increase the number of <br />bus riders, decrease traffic congestion and reduce <br />air pollution. Councilwoman Stocker stated that the <br />commission is doing surveys in the county projecting <br />mass transit demands between 1973 to 1990. <br />Councilwoman Stocker moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />that Clerk-Administrator Barnes and Engineer Lemberg <br />meet with the City of St. Paul to discuss street main- <br />tenance and the cleaning operations on Hoyt Avenue, as <br />per a letter received by the Clerk-Administrator on <br />June 12, 1973, from Daniel J. Dunford, Director of <br />Public Works for the City of St. Paul. I~Totion carried. <br />Nlrs. Tdick Labalestra and John Labalestra of the Lido <br />Cafe were present at the meeting to discuss the split <br />liquor law. Attorney lzenefick stated that the issue <br />of having split liquor in the Village would have to <br />be presented to the public at a special election. He <br />stated that due to the population, the Village would <br />be able to 3_ssue three liquor permits to restaurants <br />tJ~at seat 30 or more people. John Labalestra stated <br />that the Lido Cafe would like to serve wine and strong <br />beer with their meals and that he does not look favor- <br />ably on serving hard liquor. <br />The possibility of having a special election was dis- <br />cussed. Another possibility looked into was waiting <br />until the legislature reconvenes to see if the wine <br />bill would become a law giving the Lido Cafe the <br />automatic right to serve wine and strong beer.
