AND SEALCOATING PROJECT TO ALLIED BLACKTOP IN THE At~SOUNT 5 5 <br />OF X12,501.00 AS PER THE RECON4~NDATION OF THE CITY <br />ENGINEER AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CLERK-ADMINISTRATOR <br />TO EXECUTE TiiE CONTRACTS . <br />The foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, <br />Steele, and Labalestra, and the following voted against <br />the same: None. Motion unanimously carried. <br />T~Zayor tidarkentien introduced the follo~~i.ng Resolution and COMMUNITY PARK BUILDING <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 71~ -17 <br />A RESOLUTION AZ^7ARDING THE BID FOR THE COMMUNITY PARK <br />BUILDING TO ROBERT 0. WESTLUND, EXCLUDING ALTERNATE E-l, <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF X76,653.52, AS PER THE RECOMMENDATION OF <br />THE CITY ENGINEER AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CLERK- <br />A17MINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACTS. <br />The foreoing Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman <br />Labalestra, and anon a vote being taken thereon, the <br />following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Black, Steele, and Labalestra, and the <br />following voted against the same: None. Motion <br />unanimously carried. <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Black, TREE PROGRAM <br />to authorize the Mayor to appoint at least two residents <br />from each of the four precincts and also Dr. Hard and <br />Dr. French, Professor of Horticulture of the University <br />of P~7innesota, to a committee to study a p rogram proposal <br />for the maintenance and replacement of tress within the <br />City. Motion carried. <br />rro action was taken to rescind action taken on the SANITARY SEGO LOAA1 <br />charging of interest on the Sanitary Sewer Fund loan, <br />as per the minutes of May g, 1971. <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman SALE OF FIRE ENGINE <br />Labalestra, to authorize the sale of_ the Ward LaFrance <br />Fire Engine to the Duluth Area Vocational Technical <br />Institute for use on the Nett Lake Indian Reservation, <br />in the amount of X2,000.00. i2otion carried. <br />Clerk-Administrator Barnes reported that he had again met MEETING j~~1ITH UNIVERSITY <br />with the staff of the University of Minnesota, along with <br />Attorney Kenefick and Engineer Lemberg, concerning <br />streets, sewez•, water, police, fire and rescue services <br />for citizens in the University Grove. The University is <br />at the present time studying the present sewer system <br />by televising, and a report will be made at a later date. <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, RESCIND AZ^?ARDING OF BID <br />to rescind previous action taken awarding the change FOR SEG^'ER CONNECTION <br />order for sewer connections in the Community Park to <br />Robert 0. T~Jestlund. Motion carried. <br />
