MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA <br />SEPTEN~ER 12, 19711 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Warkentien at 8:00 P.M. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, PRESENT <br />and Labalestra. Also present were Clerk-Administrator <br />Barnes, Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Kenefick. <br />None. ABSENT <br />Councilman Ecklund moved, seconded b9 Councilman Black, MINUTES <br />to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of August <br />22, 197Z~, as corrected. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, VARIANCE - 11116 W. CALiF'ORNIA <br />to approve a request for a variance, idubmitted by Alfred <br />A. Glenn, 11116 W. California, for a three foot side yard <br />set back on the east property line to allow for th e <br />construction of a double garage, as recommended by the <br />Falcon Heights Planning Commission. Motion carried. <br />The Falcon Heights Fire Department's Actuarial Report FIRE DEPARTMENT RELIEF <br />was presented and accepted by €he Council. The members PENSION BENEFITS <br />of the fire department are requesting that the Council <br />adopt an ordinance increasing pension benefits up to <br />$600.00 per year, as per the law adopted by the <br />Minnesota Legislature at the last legislative session. <br />The Council directed the City Attorney to draft said <br />ordinance to be presented at the next regular meeting. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Steele, FALCON HEIGHTS YOUTH <br />to advance $1,630.00 to the Falcon Heights Youth Hockey HOCKEY ASSOCIATION <br />Association, as a deposit for ice time on county r3.nks, <br />to be reimbursed to the City from registration fees <br />of the hockey program on September 20, 19711. Motion <br />carried. <br />Mr. Harry Gilbert, property owner on Fairview Avenue, <br />said property described as: Unplatted lands subject <br />to New Brighton Road, the South 96 3/1~ feet of the <br />North 13115 111/100 feet of the East It95 feet of the <br />Southwest ~ of Plat 01600, Parcel 180 50, was present <br />to discuss the possibility of having a study made of the <br />sewer and water services available to his property, <br />which if feasible, he intends to subdivide and sell. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, <br />to authorize the City Engineer to make a feasibility <br />study of sewer and water services available on Fairview <br />Avenue, and that Mr. Gilbert reimburse the City for <br />the costs of the survey. Motion carried. <br />SEWER AND WATER SERVICE <br />SURVEY - FAIR.VIEW AVENUE <br />Clem Lehnet~, Falcon Bowling Lanes, was present to discuss SET-UP LICENSE - <br />the possibility of establishing an ordinance which would FALCON LANES <br />allow him to have a set-up license. He stated that <br />competition of lanes having liquor operations is <br />taking his business away. <br />
