2657 <br />„_ <br /> <br />i <br />~. <br />SPECIAL MEET-3NG JANUARY 3~ 1968 <br />The council meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with the following <br />members present: Mayor-Elect Warkentien, Clerk Strandquist, Black and Stone. <br />Minutes Approved; Stone moved, seconded by Black that the minutes of the <br />meeting of December 28, 1967 be approved. A~ess All. <br />Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br />Oaths of Offices <br />Mayor <br />Warkentien <br />,Councilman <br />Stone <br />Treasurer <br />Olsen <br />Justice of the <br />peace Carroll: <br />Appointments <br />for Year 1968: <br />Official <br />Newspaper: <br /> <br />;Attorneys <br />Engineers: <br />Building <br />Inspectors <br />Civil Defense:~ <br />Gas Inspector: <br />Weed Inspector: <br />Official <br />Depasitorys <br />The oath of office was administered by Clerk Strandquist <br />to Willis Warkentien, newly elected Mayor of Falcon Heights. <br />The oath of office was administered by Clerk Strandquist <br />to Charles P. Stone, who was re-elected to serve as <br />Councilman. <br />The oath of office was administered by Clerk Strandquist <br />to William E. Olsen who was re-elected Treasurer. <br />The oath of office was administered by Clerk Strandquist <br />to William P. Carroll, newly elected Justice of the Peace. <br />Black moved, seconded by Strandquist that the North <br />Suburban Newspapers be retained as the official legal <br />newspaper for the`year 1968. Motion was carried. <br />Blacl: moved, seconded by Strandquist that the firm of <br />Briggs and Morgan be retained as Village Attorneys. Motion <br />was carried. _. <br />Strandquist moved, seconded by Black that the firm of <br />Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik and Associates, Inc. be <br />retained as ,.consulting engineers. Motion.vraa carried. <br />Black moved, seconded by Stone that Richard Magnuson be <br />retained as building inspector. Motion xas carried. <br />Warkentien appointed Paul Loomis as Civil Defense Director <br />at a salary of X50.00 a month for the year_1968~ contingent <br />upon council members confirmation of same. .Stone movedi <br />seconded by Black that the appointment be confirmed. <br />was carried.. <br />Stone moved' seconded by Blaclz that Frank B. Eha be <br />appointed as Gas Inspector. Motion was carried. <br />Stone moved,. seconded by Strandquist that Kenneth Quarn <br />be appointed Weed Inspector.. Motion was carried. ,. <br />Stone moved, seconded by Black that the .following resolutio <br />be adopted: <br />' RESOLVED that the Falcon Heights State Bank of Falcon <br />Heights: Minnesota be and is hereby designated as a <br />-` de ository for the funds of the Village of Falcon Heights <br />~,;;= P <br />and that the Village Treasurer is authorized to deposit <br />`I General and other Village Funds therein to the amount of <br />
