2669 <br />REGUIJ-R MEETING OF FEBRUARY 8, 1968 <br />The meeting was called~to order at 7s00 P.M. with the following members <br />presents Mayor Warkentien, Clerk Strandquist,, Council Stone and Ecklund. <br />Absents Councilman Black. Also present were Attorney Kyles Engineer <br />Lemberg and Treasurer Olsen. _ . <br />Mrs. James Jenkins and Mrs. Chicone represented the League of Women Voters. <br />Terry .Fry ar~d Tom Oman were present to observe Counca.l proceedings as part <br />of a school project. <br />Minutes= Stone moved, seconded by Strandquist that the minutes of <br />r the meeting of January 3,,.1968 be approved. Ayes All. <br />Nayss None. Motion was carried. _ <br />Ecklund moved, seconded by Stone that the minutes of the <br />meeting of January 11, 1968 be approved as corrected. <br />Ayess All.. Nayss None. Motion was carried. <br />Sign for Billiard Stone moved, seconded by Ecklund that Lees Billiards, <br />Lounge - 153~C West 153t~ West Larpenteur Avenue be permitted to erect a <br />Larpenteurs thirteen foot high vertical sign on the top of the one <br />_ story section of the building, and that the building <br />inspector be so notified. Said sign is to be in <br />accordance with drawing furnished the councils and erection <br />of sign shall be under supervision of village consulting <br />engineer. Ayess A11. Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br />Correspondence <br />` Ramsey County Letter dated ~'anuary 29 from the Ramsey County League of <br />League of Municipalitie's enclosed statement for 1968 membership <br />Municipalities dues, which represented a 10~ reduction from last year. <br />St. Paul Dispatch better over signature of Beverly M3.ndrum of the St. Paul <br />Inquiry of Police pispatch and ~3.oneer Press enclosed questionnaire as to <br />Activities various police activities in the village and whether there <br />_ are groups such as 'hippies' in the village. <br />Anoka-Ramsey Special invitation was extended to Village Council members <br />Junior College: by Dr. Emil F. Wilken, President of Anoka-Ramsey State <br />Junior College to attend public open„house on Sunday, <br />February 18,'1968. <br />Metal `Signs for Letter dated February 8, 1968 from Engineer Lemberg <br />Polling Places concerned prices on various signs for polling places <br />showing hours the polls are open, also one each designating <br />Precinct No. 1 and Precinct No. 2 for use in the Village <br />Hall. Strandquist moved,. seconded by Stone that the <br />signs be purchased from Gopher Stamp and Die Company as <br />per said letter-for a total price of X39.9©. .Ayess <br />Warkentien, Strandquist, Stone and Ecklund. Nays: None. <br />Motion. was carried. <br />WaterMain Copy of letter to St. Paul Water Department over signature <br />' Ouenerships of Engineer Lemberg requested a map showing the mains that <br />. are owned wholly or partly by the City of St. Paul as par <br />their records. Engineer Lemberg reported that the map <br />had been received. <br />
