2974 <br />Arona Avenue Engineer Lemberg discussed the use of state aid funds for <br />Repair: reconstx~zction of Arona Avenue from California to Hoyt. <br />Stone moved that the Engineer be authorized. to make a <br />feasibility study of prospects to improve Arona Avenue <br />Prom California to Hoyt including curb and gutters, storm <br />sewers and widening. Black seconded and the motion carried. <br />Tractor: Engineer Leanberg was asked to draw up recoanm~-endations for <br />a lawn tractor for the Village maintenance department. <br />Application for Ecklund moved that the application of Raymond F. Brown, <br />Volunteer Fireman: 1$44 Tatum Street, for the position of volunteer fireman <br />for the village, be approved, sub3ect to his passing a <br />physical and the usual six months probationary period. <br />Black seconded and the motion carried. <br />Sign Repair Ecklund stated that there were traffic control signs in <br />Needed: the Village needing repair or replacement. <br />Fire Reports: Ecklund read Fire Reports Nos. 7, 8. <br />Sheriff's Report: Ecklund read the Sheriff's Report for the month of March. <br />Fire School Ecklund moved that the Council authorize five volunteer <br />Registration: firemen from the Village to attend the M3.xmesota State <br />Fire School on April 27, 28, 29, 30, at a cost not to <br />exceed $300. Three men will. attend for four days and two <br />men for one day. Black seconded and the motion carried. <br />Court Costs The Council discussed court costs being added to fines <br />Added to Fines: paid to the Justice of the Peace instead of the Village <br />paying the costs as is presently done. This will be dis- <br />cussed further by the Council and Justices of the Peace. <br />Stm~ner Recreation Mayor Warkentien checked the report sent into the office <br />Report: by Gary Wieks, Summer Recreation Director of 1969, and <br />advised the clerk to send copies to all Recreation Commit- <br />tee Members. Discontinuance of the program for 1970 was <br />discussed by the Council due to lack of interest and par- <br />ticipation in the past few years.
