2999 <br />maintenance in accordance with the budget adopted by the <br />Sanitary District Board; and <br />WHEREAS on August 1, 1970 the District, and all of <br />its property and contract rights, including the obligations <br />of Minneapolis and St. Paul to make payments to the Dis- <br />trict in accordance with its 1970 budget, will be taken <br />over, acquired and assumed by the Metropolitan Sewer Board <br />pursuant to Minnesota Laws 1969, Chapter !1l~9, Section 5; and <br />WHEREAS Minneapolis and St. Paul will be required by <br />the Metropolitan Sewer Board to continue to fund the Sani- <br />tary District 1970 budget and to provide funds for payment <br />of debt service in 1970 on='bonds issued for Sanitary <br />District sewerage works to be assumed by the Sewer Board; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, that the Village will <br />continue to make use of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Sanitary <br />District sewerage works between August 1, 1970 and December <br />31, 1970, and that the Village will continue to pay St. <br />Paul therefor as provided in said agreement dated July 23, <br />1970, and arty agreements amendatory thereof or supplemen- <br />tal thereto. <br />Variance Request - Black moved that the variance request submitted by William <br />1477 West Wizik, 11177 West California Avenue, to build a double <br />California Avenue: garage on the existing single garage area, be referred to <br />the Falcon Heights Planning Commission for recommendation. <br />Ecklund seconded and the motion carried. <br />Tennis Court Black moved that the Village decline to enter into the <br />Contract With proposed tennis court lease agreement to construct tennis <br />School District courts on the Falcon Heights Elementary School property. <br />No. 623: Warkentien seconded and the motion carried. (Letter sent <br />to Superintendent Nielsen.) <br />Tennis Courts on Warkentien moved that the Council authorize Engineer Lemberg <br />Falcon Heights to explore the feasibility of tennis courts being construc- <br />Village Hall ted on grounds at the rear of the Village Ha11. Ecklund <br />Grounds: seconded and the motion carried. <br />Back Stop at Engineer Lemberg obtained a price of $1125.00 erected, for <br />University Grove: a back stop at the University Grove playground. Black <br />moved that the Village install a back stop 20X12 feet on <br />property ad3acent to University Grove sub3ect to obtaining <br />written permission from the University of Minnesota authori- <br />ties to remove the back stop in the event that the permis- <br />sion to use the property is terminated at a future date. <br />Warkentien seconded and the motion carried. <br />Volunteer Fireman Ecklund moved that the application for volunteer fireanan, <br />Application: submitted by Gary Allen Scholfield, 1707 Fry Street, be <br />approved by the Village sub3ect to his passing a physical <br />and the customary six months probationary period.
