1973 <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF AUGUST 19, 196 <br />The special meeting was called to order at 7:00 P,M. with the following members <br />being presents Harold Nilsen, Mayor; W. A, Mortensen, Clerk; George Shaver, <br />Trustee; Charles P, Stone, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, Trustee. Also present <br />were Engineer Lemberg, Attorney M. Galvin, Treasurer William E, Olsen, and <br />Deputy Clerk Tina Vavouli.s. <br />Fiscal Agents: Mr. Bob Sander of the firm of Juran and Moody was <br />present at the Couneil~s request. This firm has been <br />appointed as fiscal agents. Mr. Sander spoke to <br />the Council about various ways of issuing bonds for <br />project about to be undertaken - The 1963 Watermain <br />and Serer Extension. <br />1963 Watermain and Sewer Mayor Nilsen called for any bids that may not have <br />Extensions been submitted. A,t 8:00 P,M., the advertisement for <br />bids was read by Clerk Mortensen prior to the opening <br />Opening of Bidss of bids. It was stated that the proper legal notices <br />had been published in the North Suburban Newspaper <br />and the Construction Bulletin. Seven bids were <br />opened by Engineer Lemberg, and all were accompanied <br />by the bid bond in the amount of 5~ of the contract. <br />Motion made by Stone, seconded by Warkentien, that <br />the bids be referred to Engineer Lemberg for tabulation. <br />Carried. <br />Warkentien moved, seconded by Shaver that the following <br />Resolution be adopted by the Council. Carried. <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids <br />for the Watermain Improvement of 1963 and Consolidated <br />Improvements, bids were received, opened, and tabulated <br />according to law, and the following bids were received. <br />complying with the advertisement. <br />Sandstrom & Hafner ~15~.,133.~ <br />Start September 9 - camplete as specified <br />Nodland Construction Company 126,896.00 <br />Start as specified - complete as specified <br />Barbarossa and Sons 179, 927,lt0 <br />Start in ten days - complete Nov. 15 <br />Peter Lametti Construction Company 1liz,691.38 <br />Start in 3 weeks - complete as specified <br />Lametti and Sons 139,528.00 <br />Start September 1 - complete as specified <br />Randall Brothers 165,6ltl~.00 <br />Start September 1 - complete as specified <br />Robert W. Moore 13l~,765.00 <br />Start September 1 - complete December 1st <br />WHEREAS it appears that Nodland Construction <br />Company of Alexandria, Minnesota is the lowest <br />responsible bidder, <br />
