<br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 3Q, 1963 <br />20l~6 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7630 P. M. with the followingmembersbeing <br />present: Mayor Harold Nilsen; Clerk W. A. Mortensen; Trues tees Willis Warkentien <br />and Charles Stone; Deputy Clerk Tina Vavoulis. Also present was William H. Black, <br />new elected trustee, and Treasurer William E, Olsen. Absents George J, Shaver, <br />trustee, <br />Stone moved, Nilsen seconded that the minutes of the meeting of December 11 be <br />approved. as submitted. Carried. <br />Swearing ins Clerk Mortensen performed the duty of swearing in the <br /> elected Justice of the Peace, Dwain L, Jones and the <br /> newly elected Trustee William H. Black. Clerk Mortensen <br /> also administered the oath of office to re-elected Mayor <br /> Harold Nilsen and re-elected Treasurer William E, Olsen. <br />Street lightings A short discussion was held on street lighting needs of <br /> the village and same shall be further discussed. <br />Correspondences <br />Civil Defense: Letter dated December 12, 1963 was read requesting the <br /> Mayor to set a date and time for a meeting with LorinS, <br /> Allen of Civil Defense Department, to discuss Pillage Fa11- <br /> out Shelter Program. Mr. Allen will be requested to meet <br /> with the Council at their regular meeting of January 22 <br /> at 9s0o P.M. <br />N. S. P. ComparXy <br />Refu <br />ds Letter dated December 19, 19b3 regarding distribution of <br />$1 <br />08 <br />11 <br />21 <br />n , <br />. <br />3,9 <br />1 to its general service gas customers in its <br /> St. Paul division, which includes this village, was read. <br /> Distribution will be made from refunds to be received by <br /> that company from its pipeline supplier pursuant to recent <br /> orders of the Federal Power Commission. <br />Minnesota Safety Notice of meeting which is to be held January 111, 19611 at <br />Council - 12:15 P.M. at the Hotel St. Paul was read. <br />Annual meetings <br />Ramsey County League of Discussion was held regarding attendance at meetings of <br />Municipalities this League, which have been scheduled on the same evenings <br /> as the Council regular meetings, making it impossible for <br /> council members to attend. Clerk Mortensen will contact <br /> the League in an effort to find solution. <br />Bethel Colleges Mayor Nilsen advised he had been invited to attend a <br /> luncheoa at Bethel College and read letter from them <br /> advising they are desirous of obtaining two. additional <br /> buildings to be used as housing for its students. <br />Commissioner of High- Letter was read advising that the flashing lights on all <br />ways -Snow plows and <br />work crew trucks maintenance trucks has been changed from blue to amber <br />color and Commissioner requested that any signs or trucks <br /> belonging to the village be changed in accordance. <br />Trees: Motion made by Nilsen, seconded by Warkentien that contract <br /> which was prepared and submitted ~ Dr. C, Gustav Hard be <br /> sent to each of the three suggested bidders listed below: <br />
