2218 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF a'fARCH 10, 1965 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P,M. with the following members <br />presents Nilsen, Warkentien, Stone and Black. Also present were Attorney Galvin, <br />Engineer Lemberg, Treasurer Olsen, and Deputy Clerk T. Vavoulis. Absents Clerk <br />Herbert H. Strandquist. <br />Stone moved that the minutes of the meeting of February 2l~, 1965 be approved. <br />Carried. <br />Mrs. Harry Foreman of the League of Women Voters submitted letter dated March 9, <br />1965 from the Executive Board in which recommendations were listed with regard <br />to modifications of existing grade crossing as well as the grade separation. <br />Mrs. Carol Kirkwood was representative of the League of Women Voters. <br />Correspondence: <br />Eugene Avery, Engineer Lemberg read letter from Eugene Avery, Chief <br />St. Paul Chief Engineer of the City of St, Paul regarding Snelling <br />Engineer: Avenue traffic. <br />Traffic s <br />Arona and There was discussion regarding traffic congestion at <br />Larpenteur: Arona and Larpenteur Avenues during peak hours. <br />Donations for Organizations or individuals wishing to donate money for <br />Recreational Purposes: recreation purposes should make out cheek to the Village <br />of Falcon Heights with notation on check stating it is to <br />be used for recreation. <br />HEARING <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Hearing was <br />Ordinance No. 71 called at 8:00 P,M, to hear all persons resent with regard <br />Amending Ord. to the Proposed amendment to Ordinance 6~, which is <br />No. 6~.: entitled "The Zoning Ordinance of Falcon Heights, related <br />to a comprehensive amendment and rezoning of the Village <br />Amending Ordinance No. 8 originally passed by the Village <br />of Falcon Heights on October 21, 19~.9.~ <br />E,C.Killmer We would like to get this amendment inasmuch as the land <br />1700 West is getting too high priced for the nursery business and 2 <br />Larpenteur Ave.: am getting too old to run it. It is a nice piece of land <br /> and very suitable for what could be on i.t and it will bring <br /> you a nice revenue in Falcon Heights. It will be giving <br /> you more money than the nursery. I am getting so I cannot <br /> run the nursery business so I want to dispose of it. I <br /> hope you folk realize that at age 78 I want to quit, but <br /> I have been plugging along and I hope you will adopt this <br /> amendment. <br />William F, Hueg, This council is aware for at least two and possibly three <br />Asst. Director sessions of the Legislature, the University has requested <br />Institute of Agr- opportunity to purchase a portion of the land, part of <br />iculture - Univ. which belongs to Mr. Killmer, It could be used for class- <br />of Minnesota: room buildings laboratory buildings, additional land area <br /> will eventually be necessary. Mr. Ki.llmer's property would <br /> give the village additional taxes, and if this is deeded to <br /> the University there would be no tax money to it, If we <br />
