2322 <br />REGULAR rdEETING OF DECEMBER 8, 1965 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M, with the following <br />members present: Mayor Nilsen, Clerk Strandquist and Trustees Black and <br />Stone. Absents Willis Warkentien. Also present were Treasurer Olsen, <br />Attorney Galvin and Engineer Brad Lemberg. <br />Burt Arvilla of the Suburban Life Newspapers was present. <br />Minutes: Stone moved, seconded by Black that the minutes of the <br />meeting of November 2l~, 1965 be approved. Motion carried. <br />Correspondences <br />Cleveland- Dudley Letter of November 29 from Consulting Engineer Lemberg <br />Water Mains regarding possible connections to the new line installed by <br />the Village of Falcon Heights in 1963 advised that no <br />connections had been or would be allowed by the St. Paul <br />Water Department without approval of the Village of Falcon <br />Heights. <br />Northern States Letter from Northern States Power Company advised of lower. <br />Pager Company: gas rates to consumers in Falcon Heights. <br />Dr. Farkas Report Report from Dr. John Farkas dated November 29 was regarding <br />on Owen Harmers Officer Harmer': physical condition subsequent to accident <br />of July 15, 1965. <br />County Assessors Ronald Powers, County Assessor, under date of December lst <br /> invited assessors and presidin officers to attend instruction <br />D <br />i <br />l <br />65 <br /> meet <br />a <br />ng on <br />ecember 17, 19 <br />. Council was advised that <br /> William P. Carroll will attend same for the Village of <br /> Falcon Heights. <br />Donald Arndt Donald Arndt, Police Commissioner, was present to report <br />Police Commissioners on activities of the Police Department. Notes are on file <br /> in the Village Clerk's Office files. <br />Recreations <br />Falcon Woods The Falcon Woods Playground Association has regrtested <br />Playground Council consideration to improving the recreation area by <br />Associations building a block warming house and making other improvements. <br />Skating Rink After discussion, it was deemed advisable that the following <br />Hours: schedule be observed at the skating rinks at Idaho-Snelling <br /> and the one at the Falcon Heights Elementary School: <br /> Monday through Thursday 4:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. <br /> Friday Lts30 P.M, to 10:00 P.M. <br /> Saturday 9s30 A.M, to 10:00 P.M. <br /> Sunday 1s00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. <br /> Saturday hours will prevail during Christmas vacation, <br /> except that rinks shall open on Sunday at 1:00 P.M. <br /> Rinks will close at 6:00 P.M. on Christmas Eve, but will <br /> be open until 10:00 P.M. on New Year's Eve. <br />
