1 z35 Al Helbig -Fire Fire Chief Al Helbig was present and reported on activities Chief Reports in the Fire Department. Stone moved, seconded by Warkentien that Council grant authorization to register three men, namely, B. Slams, H. Nelson and A. Helbig, at the Minnesota University of State Fire School at the University of Minnesota Minnesota from the 25th of April through the 28th of April. Also Fire School that Council grant au:bhoris:ation for three additional men .from Volunteer Fire Department to attend one day each at a cost not to exceed ~.5.0o each. The former three m®n are each allcmed ~i5 per day allowance for attending the school. Ayess All. Nayss None. Carried. Fire Departments Helbig advised that Volunteer Jerry Renchin would like t0 demonstrate radio equipment to the Fire Department and the Council, Purchase of Stone moved, seconded by Black that in accordance with the self-contained provisions of the 1966 budget, the Village Council authorize air masks the purchase of one self-contained air mask at a cost of approximately ~3C0. After discussion and review of village ordinances, council advised that no such license or permit could legally be issued. Recreation: Representing the North Suburban Lior~ Club were Art Damon, North Suburban President, Nick Labalestra, John McDonough, Flogd MAtthey, Lions Club and Roy Wollum. Mr. Damon presented second axmual check Donations in tdie amount of ~2f3U to the Village of Falcon Heights for use in the Recreation Department. West Falcon Woods Warkentien moved, seconded by Stone that the West Falcon Playground Assoc. Woods Playground Association be authorized to purchase Purchase of approximately 30o feet of chain link fence for chain link installation along foul line of the baseball field fences at a cost not to exceed ~3C0. Further moved that the donation from the North Suburban Lione Club of X240 be used toward this purchase. Ayess A11. Nays: None. Motion was carried. When fence has been installed, the Lione Club shall be notified in order that metal plaque denoting that this organization has made donation tcwrard purchase of same, may be placed on fens®. Resurface and Warkentien moved, Stone seconded that authorization be Extend fermis given.. to the West Falcon Woods Playground Association court areas for purchase of the necessary materials to resurface the tennis court and extend same 15 feet or to ~5' x 50s at a Bost not to exceed X300, Ayess All. It was noted that Walter's Disposal has made no attempt to pay bill of ~15.0o for services rendered in extinguishing fire in one of their trucks in December 1965.
