2586 <br />WIND STORM 5trandquist introduced the following resolution and <br />Damaged Treess moved its adoptions <br />WHEREAS, a violent and unprecedented windstorm <br />occurred within the Village of Falcon Heights on <br />June 30, 1967 causing damage to ..public. and private <br />properties, and <br />1NHEREAS, numerous trees on the boulevard within <br />the Village of Falcon Heights were destroyed or <br />seriously. damaged by said storm, and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council deems it necessary and <br />desirable that said boulevard trees be removed <br />NOWT THEF~'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE V7ZLAGE COUNC7Z <br />of Falcon Heights ~ b~.nnesota: <br />1. The Village shall remove all downed boulevard <br />trees at the expense of said village. <br />2. The Village shall remove. all boulevard trees <br />which are damaged to such an extent so as to present a <br />hazard to the safety of the residents of the village or <br />shall present a hazard to other trees by reason of <br />susceptibility to disease. <br />3. All replacement of trees removed from the <br />boulevard shall be accomplished at the expense of the <br />land owner. <br />!~. Replacement of aRY removed trees by the land <br />owners must be done in accordance with the provisions <br />of Ordinance No. 59 which provides that all boulevard <br />planting shall be done only upon the approval of the <br />village engineer and further specified in Section 8 <br />certain types of trees which are prohibited on boulevards, <br />5. Trees which are to be replaced should be of a <br />variety recommended by the village tree consultant, and <br />list of such trees is on file in the office of the Village <br />Clerk. <br />I~tion was duly seconded by Stone and upon a vote being <br />taken thereon, the following voted for same: Warkentien~ <br />Strandquist~ Stone and Black and the following voted against <br />same; None. Whereupon; said resolution was declared duly <br />.passed and adopted. <br />Disaster Relief Councilmen were unanimous in their opinion that the Vi],lage <br />Funds due to of Falcon Heights will not seek nor make application for <br />Windstorms Disaster Relief Funds as provided by the Office of Emergency <br />Planning. <br />Field Inspection of Village Engineer and Tree Consultant Orrin Turnquist (who <br />Trees:. is replacing C. Gus Hard during his absence) will make <br />field inspection of boulevard trees on Friday July 1l~. <br />
