REGULAR MEETING THURSDAY, February 13, 1958. ~~ 3 <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 P. M,, the following Council Members being present: <br />Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee; William <br />Utecht, Clerk. Also present: R`m. E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Ethel White, Dep. <br />Clerk and Treasurer. Absent: Willis Warkentien, Trustee, and Frank N. Graham, Atty. <br />The minutes of the February 6th meeting were ordered approved as submitted. <br />FED DIST CIG Letter of February 11th, from Stafford King, State Auditor, ex- <br />& LIQUOR plaining why Federal Distribution of Cigarette and Liquor Taxes <br />TAXES was being delayed, was read and contents noted. <br />MGIL Mr. Shavor moved that Master Gas Installer's License #107 be <br />#107 approved for Richard W. Johnson, dba Midwest Equipment Service <br />Co., & Midwest Equipment Supply Co. Seconded by Nilsen and motion <br />unanimously carried::: <br />FLAMEBURGER R4r. Peter Karalis, Flameburger, appeared before the Council re- <br />garding his request to connect to the sewer line under the parking <br />lot between his building and Ha,nson's Bakery. He advised he had <br />permission from Douglas Ries who owns the building. The Council <br />advised we were checking with St. Paul to see if this connection <br />was permissable under the ordinance and. would have the answer for <br />him at the next Council Meeting. <br />GREATER After discussion, Utecht moved that David Cartwright be asked to <br />ST. PAUL continue his attendance at the meetings of the Greater St. Paul <br />SAFETY COUN- Safety Council. Nilsen seconded and the motion was unanimously <br />CIL carried. <br />SEWER Mr. Nilsen gave the Council the information he had on this matter <br />CHARGE and advised that 'dr. Frank Graham, Village Atty., would represent <br />REVISION us at the hearine~ to be, held by the St. Paul City Council on <br />this resolution Friday, February lltth, 1958, and that he and Mr. <br />Coppini would also attend this meeting. <br />LIQUOR Mr. Wozniak's letter regarding fiscal problems was read. Mr. <br />STORE Shavor moved that the Clerk write a letter to the Commission ex- <br />plaining we don't want to take up their time with a local problem, <br />but expressing our stand that we feel we should be permitted to <br />-put in a liquor store. Seconded by Nilsen and motion unanimously <br />carried. <br />MUNICIPAL Mr. Fern Ljungren gave a detailed report on this matter and sub- <br />STATE AID witted letter from Milner W. Carley & Associates, dated February <br />STREETS 13th, outlining pertinent points and same was filed for future <br />ref erence. <br />POLICE Mr. Arndt reported 36 traffic violations. Total amount of fines <br />COMM X317.00. Total expenses $710.39. There was a general discussion <br />regarding police and traffic problems. <br />LARPENTEUR Pair. Vern Ljungren gave a detailed report on this matter and presented <br />AVENUE drawings showing contemplated work. He also left a letter from <br />Milner W. Carley & Associates confirming his report. <br />
