REGULAR ~~4EETING THURSDAY P,7ARCH 27, 1958. <br />w t. <br />a' .:~ <br />~4eeting was called to order at 7:30, the following Council R4embers being present: <br />Harold C. Nilsen, ~~~~ayor; George Shavor, Trustee, Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also <br />present were Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Ethel E. V~'hite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy <br />Treasurer. Absent: Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee, Frank N. <br />Graham, Village Attorney. <br />The rvlinutes of the Py4arch 13th meeting were approved as submitted. <br />Flag The Deputy Clerk was instructed to write a letter to Earl Grumke, <br />Chief of the Falcon Heights Fire Department, thanking him and <br />the other members of the Volunteer Fare Department for their. <br />thoughtfulness in providing the official flag for the Village Hall. <br />Withhold- It was moved by Utecht and seconded by Shavor £hat the Deputy <br />ing and Clerk be instructed to write the full time men and tell them that <br />PERA 1`Jithholding Tax must be deducted for extra work, and PERA until <br />they have earned the maximum amount of $~~,800.00 ~,~iotion unanimously <br />carried. <br />Fire The Clerk was instructed to write Chief Grumke that the Council <br />School feels he is better qualified to make the recommendations for mem- <br />bership in the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs Association, and for <br />Fire School to be held at the University of Minnesota. <br />Sewer In- It was moved by Utecht and seconded by Nilsen that we write Omar <br />stalla- League, sewer installer, and tell him that after discussion be- <br />tions- tween themselves and the Engineer, the Council feels we should <br />continue to use the hot ta.r mix. for making the connections on <br />vitrified clay pipes as specified in Ordinance 1~7. r~fotion unan- <br />imously carried. <br />Request to Clerk Utecht advised the Council that Carl Kaechele <br />15l~2 Idaho <br />purchase <br />villa <br />e , <br />Avenue, nest, had requested him to ask the Council if he could <br />g <br />property purchase 5, 10, or 15 feet of the drainage area to a depth of <br />135 feet. iltecht was inst <br />t <br />d b <br /> ruc <br />e <br />y the Council to inform Mr. <br />Kaechele that, in view of future Mans for th <br /> e area,. they did not <br />think it advisable to sell any of the property. <br />Autum St. <br />and Piir. D. C. 'Aide, 1998 Autumn, asked what action had been taken <br /> <br />Prior on Autumn and Prior streets. He was .told by Villaga Engineer, <br />Vern Ljungren <br />that Ray Sina <br />th <br /> , <br />, <br />e contractor who did the work, had <br />been contacted, and that as soon as the weather was favorable he <br /> was to come back and take out the poor material where necessary <br />and replace it with <br /> a gravel base and a plant mix surface. Re- <br />garding drainage in this area, the Village is tryin <br />to <br />t <br /> g <br />ge <br />a culvert <br />crossing of Roselawn, west of Tatum, and Lametti is to deepen <br /> drainage ditches. <br />County <br />Work The Deputy Clerk was instructed to send a copy of the following <br /> <br />Orders work order to the County Auditor and the.County Surveyor: 'Patch <br />d <br /> an <br />repair only such street breakups as specifically requested <br />by the Village Engineer." <br /> There was a general discussion regarding streets, drainage <br />storm <br /> , <br />sewers, and grading of unplatted property. Engineer Ljungren was <br />asked to fi <br />ure the a <br />i <br /> g <br />pprox <br />mate cost of storm sewers for the <br />whole village.
