MINUTES REGULAR ?u~EETING July 2~th, 1958.
<br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M., the following Council Members being
<br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; Geo. 5havor, Trustee; Willis Warkentien,
<br />Trustee; Paul Conpini, Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were
<br />Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney; Wm. E. Olson, Treas.; Vern Ljungren, Village
<br />Engineer, and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer.
<br />P~iinutes of the Special Meeting of July 17th were approved as submitted.
<br />Depressions Letter from Steffes of T. K. D, A. and Associates, dated July 17th
<br />caused by was read. It listed the house service connections which were re-

<br />stallers & tions issued to them Monday, July 1l~th, following the meeting of
<br />repaired by the Engineers, Council and Contractors Saturday, July 12th.
<br />Craig Co. There were 43, plus the repair at 1823 Simpson where the Council
<br />had authorized Crogness Sewer Installers to go into the street.
<br />Copies of Attorney Graham's letters to the contractors listing
<br />the number of repairs for which they were responsible were read.
<br />They were as follows: Walter Hermes, Rosetown Sanitation, 1~;
<br />~G20.00; Webster Co., 1, X5.00; K. Schurhamer, KRtiS Sanitation,
<br />1956 Price St., St. Paul, 26, $130.00; Crogness Construction Co.,
<br />!~, X20.00; and Kuether Plumbing Co., Lt, X20.00,
<br />Postal A petition signed by 82 people requesting door to door mail del-
<br />. Service ivery on Tatum, Autumn, Roselawn, Fairview and Prior, Falcon
<br /> Heights, was discussed and the Deputy Clerk instructed to call
<br /> the Main Post Office and ask the proper procedure.

<br />Installer's It was moved by Shavor, seconded by Warkentien and unanimously
<br />voted to grant sewer Installer's Licenses to the following:

<br />Plumber's It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by Warkentien and unanimously
<br />License voted to grant Plumber's license #23 to Wallace H. Johnson,
<br /> Wallace H. Johnson Plumbing Co., 946 Lowry, Minneapolis 18.
<br />Drainage Mr. Frank Spindler, 1532 Crawford, appeared before the Council to
<br />Crawford ask that the drainage problem be taken care of. He showed pic-
<br />Alley & tures taken in 1946, showing his garage well above the alley
<br />Rees which has been raised from time to time, leaving his property,
<br />Property especially his garage, vulnerable to flooding. Mayor Nilsen ad-
<br /> vised he had written ~4r. Douglas Rees, of Rees-Thomson-Scroggins,
<br /> Inc., 5000 Wayzata Blvd., Minneapolis, regarding the broken
<br /> drainage pipe on their property which has failed to carry the
<br /> air conditioning water, etc. from their buildings; and that this
<br /> water is a nuisance and causing damage to private property.
<br /> Nilsen stated. the correct solution to the problem is the construc-
<br /> tion of a storm sewer from the catch basin in the alley to Arona
<br /> and thence south on Arona to tie into the Larpenteur Avenue
<br /> System, and asked that Mr. Rees, or his representative, discuss
<br /> the matter with the Falcon Heights Council soon. He suggested
<br /> to Mr. Spindler that we give Pdr. Rees a reasonable time to reply.
<br /> It was pointed out by Engineer L~ungren that air conditioning
