z~55 <br />SPECIAL MEETING AUGUST !~, 1958. <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30, P. M., the following Council Members be- <br />ing present: Harold C. Nilsen, P~dayor; Geo. Shavor, Trustee; Willis Vlarken- <br />tien, Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee; and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also <br />present were Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney; Vern L. Ljungren, Village <br />Engineer, Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer; and Etrel E. 4"dhite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy <br />Treasurer. <br />Mayor iVilsen read Notice of Public Hearing on Improvement of Alleys as pub- <br />lished in the Rose Tribune July 2Ltth and 31st, and advised the date of posting. <br />He also pointed out the alleys under consideration on the map, and explained <br />that the alley between California and Idaho, from Albert to Hamline, had been <br />repaired by the County by mistake and at no cost to the Village; and while not <br />up to standard, would not be considered at this Hearing. <br />Alley be- There were r~4r. J, A. Gallaher, Mr. D. S. Madole and Mr. J. W. <br />tween Calif. Reber, who own property abutting on this alley, present at the <br />Idaho from meeting. r~4r. Gallaher advised that people owning property <br />Arona to abutting this alley back in the Township days, in 1948 or 49 <br />Pascal. had paid to have some work done on it. It was a private <br /> undertaking. The County ~gineer established the grade and <br /> Scully Company hauled in gravel and did the black topping, <br /> but that nothing had been done on it since then and that it was <br /> now badly in need of repairs especially on the East end. Mr. <br /> Gallaher, P~~Ir. Madole and ~.4r. Reber all expressed themselves <br /> as being in favor of having the alley improved. <br /> Nilsen asked if there were any objections to improving this <br /> alley by base correction, surface repair and seal coating at <br /> an estimated cost of $852.50, and assessing the cost to the <br /> abutting property owners. No objections were voiced from <br />the floor. <br />"T" Alley in Nilsen asked if there were any objections to improving this <br />block bounded alley by grading, base construction and bituminous surfacing <br />by Iowa, Ham- at an estimated cost of $2,850.93 and assessing the cost to <br />line, Hoyt & the abutting property owners. No objections were heard from <br />Albert. the floor. <br />Resolution. There being no objections, Attorney Graham offerred the <br />following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION: <br />WHEREAS, A Resolution of the Village Council adopted July <br />17th, 1958 fixed a date for a COUNCIL HEARING on the proposed <br />improvement of the following alleys: <br />(1) The alley between Iowa and Hoyt Avenues from Pascal to <br />Albert Avenues to be, improved by grading, base construction <br />and bituminous surfacing at an estimated cost of $~2,1~49.15. <br />
