1~~~ REGULAR MEETING WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 12~ 1958. Meeting was called to order at 7s00 P. M., the following Council Members being present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; Geo. Shavor, Trustee; Willis t."tarkentien, Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney, 9dm. E. Olsen, Treasurer, Nick Christensen, Building Inspector and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. P~inutes of the regular meeting of October 23rd were approved as submitted. Playground Mr. Joseph Garske, 1576 No. Snelling Drive, advised that he had Idaho & shown the plan for the proposed playground for their area to Snelling. many of the residents and that they are pleased and enthused about-the prospect of a future playground for the children in that area. Mr. Garske submitted the names of the following men who have agreed to work on the Playground Committee: Carl Kaechele, Wayne Sorenson, Jim Maguire, Richard 9hmann and George Kilgore. ~4r. Garske was designated as Chairman. P~Aayor Nilsen advised that the plan as shown on the sketch might not be completely realized for a time -- that it would be a step by step improvement as funds were available, The Committee is of the opinion that grading and the construction of a fence are the first items to be consider- ed. They agreed to give their time and efforts to the raising of funds and the planning of equipment and a program. It was agreed that they could hold an area dance at the Village Hall and a car- nival at the playground. They were advised that the small confer- ence room at the Village Hall was available for meetings by making reservations. Hedge on After discussion, the deputy clerk was instructed to write Boulevard Gustav C. Hard, 1937 Autumn, enclosing copies of Ordinances 3 and 10, advising him that the hedge on his boulevard is in violation of our building code; and requesting that he remove this hedge and put it in the proper place this Fall. Trailer on After discussion, it was agreed that Coppini would talk to Boulevard P,~r. Coleman advising him that the trailer he has parked on his boulevard on P~7aple Knoll is on Village Property and should be moved onto his own property. A11 night After discussion, it was decided that Nilsen and Warkentien would bowling ~ talk to Mr. Flaherty of Flaherty's Bowling Lanes advising him that the Village would object to all night bowling. Village After discussion, the deputy clerk was instructed to contact Hall signs Ljungren regarding a sign about 18" x 18" reading "Falcon Heights Village Hall" and a standard for same. Also a. sign reading "Clerk's Office" or "Village Clerk" and a bracket for same. Recreation- After discussion, it was moved by Utecht, seconded by Shavor and al Area unanimously voted that the P~Zayor be authorized to execute three Agreement copies of the proposed agreement with the University of P~4innesota U of M covering property west of Falcon Woods No. 1 enclosed with Mr. Middlebrook's letter of October 22nd, 1958. Attorney Graham to write the covering letter. Sewer It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by Warkentien and unanimously Flushing voted that Bertrand J. Slama be authorized to proceed with the & Maint. Sewer Flushing Operation.
