1~~~ <br />REGULAR MEETING WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 12~ 1958. <br />Meeting was called to order at 7s00 P. M., the following Council Members being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; Geo. Shavor, Trustee; Willis t."tarkentien, <br />Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were <br />Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney, 9dm. E. Olsen, Treasurer, Nick Christensen, <br />Building Inspector and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />P~inutes of the regular meeting of October 23rd were approved as submitted. <br />Playground Mr. Joseph Garske, 1576 No. Snelling Drive, advised that he had <br />Idaho & shown the plan for the proposed playground for their area to <br />Snelling. many of the residents and that they are pleased and enthused <br />about-the prospect of a future playground for the children in <br />that area. Mr. Garske submitted the names of the following men <br />who have agreed to work on the Playground Committee: Carl Kaechele, <br />Wayne Sorenson, Jim Maguire, Richard 9hmann and George Kilgore. ~4r. <br />Garske was designated as Chairman. P~Aayor Nilsen advised that the <br />plan as shown on the sketch might not be completely realized for <br />a time -- that it would be a step by step improvement as funds <br />were available, The Committee is of the opinion that grading <br />and the construction of a fence are the first items to be consider- <br />ed. They agreed to give their time and efforts to the raising of <br />funds and the planning of equipment and a program. It was agreed <br />that they could hold an area dance at the Village Hall and a car- <br />nival at the playground. They were advised that the small confer- <br />ence room at the Village Hall was available for meetings by making <br />reservations. <br />Hedge on After discussion, the deputy clerk was instructed to write <br />Boulevard Gustav C. Hard, 1937 Autumn, enclosing copies of Ordinances 3 and <br />10, advising him that the hedge on his boulevard is in violation <br />of our building code; and requesting that he remove this hedge and <br />put it in the proper place this Fall. <br />Trailer on After discussion, it was agreed that Coppini would talk to <br />Boulevard P,~r. Coleman advising him that the trailer he has parked on his <br />boulevard on P~7aple Knoll is on Village Property and should be <br />moved onto his own property. <br />A11 night After discussion, it was decided that Nilsen and Warkentien would <br />bowling ~ talk to Mr. Flaherty of Flaherty's Bowling Lanes advising him <br />that the Village would object to all night bowling. <br />Village After discussion, the deputy clerk was instructed to contact <br />Hall signs Ljungren regarding a sign about 18" x 18" reading "Falcon Heights <br />Village Hall" and a standard for same. Also a. sign reading "Clerk's <br />Office" or "Village Clerk" and a bracket for same. <br />Recreation- After discussion, it was moved by Utecht, seconded by Shavor and <br />al Area unanimously voted that the P~Zayor be authorized to execute three <br />Agreement copies of the proposed agreement with the University of P~4innesota <br />U of M covering property west of Falcon Woods No. 1 enclosed with Mr. <br />Middlebrook's letter of October 22nd, 1958. Attorney Graham to <br />write the covering letter. <br />Sewer It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by Warkentien and unanimously <br />Flushing voted that Bertrand J. Slama be authorized to proceed with the <br />& Maint. Sewer Flushing Operation. <br /> <br />
