I <br />wonder if you would mind reading the resolution, please. <br />1 <br />Korstad Certainly, the Heading is Resolution: "Whereas, the present zoning <br />ordinance of the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, was adopted <br />in 19l~9 at the time the Villa.~e of Falcon Heights was incorporated, <br />and WHEREAS, at such time no complete overall study of zoning was- <br />made for the Village but instead the zoning as prescribed by the <br />Township in 1942 was adopted, and WHEREAS it now appears that because <br />some of the Business District zoning is located in a 100% residential <br />area and that such tracts have never been used for Business or <br />Commercial purposes, and WHEREt~S, with the growth of the Village <br />it becomes necessary to require restrictive zoning within the general <br />zoning classification to protect the values, the beauty, the health, <br />the safety, and the general welfare of the community, and WHEREAS, <br />the Planning Commission of Falcon Heights has recommended to the <br />Village Council of Falcon Heights that the action recommended by <br />this Resolution be adopted. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the <br />Council of the Village of Falcon Heights change the zoning of the <br />following described tract of land located in Ramsey County, State <br />of Minnesota, From a Business District classification to a Resi- <br />dence Distrie~ "~" classification: <br />The Westerly 285 of lot 8 Annie L. Hendrickson's Acre <br />lots, Ramsey County, Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota, except- <br />ing from said tract the following described parts: <br />1 <br />(1) the north 850' of said tract <br />(2) the west 60' of the south 195' of said tract; and <br />(3) the south 1?9' of said tract lying easterly of the <br />westerly 60' of said tract, <br />subject to the present non-conforming use. <br />BE IT FURTH~t RESOLVED, that the Village Council of Falcon Heights <br />immediately conduct a complete study of the zoning of Falcon <br />Heights, together with the necessity of restrictive zoning within <br />the general zoning classifications and employ a Planning Engineer <br />to assist in such study so that modern zoning requirements will be <br />adopted commensurate with the growth and development of the commun- <br />ity. <br />lr`de the undersigned residents of the Village of Falcon Heights, <br />Minnesota do hereby adopt the foregoing; resolution and recommend <br />its adoption by the Village Council of Falcon Heights: <br />1 <br />Nick Chris- Mr. Chairman, I would like to have him re-read that one line about <br />tensen the Planning Commission.
