He also complained about the dust being <br />raised on the east and west road on the University's property, <br />and the Deputy Clerk was instructed to write the University <br />asking that they do something to remedy this situation. <br />Van Hoven RESOLUTION PASSED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF <br />Resolution FALCON HEIGHTS RH~1lSEY COUNTY, MINIirESOTA, APRIL 1lt, 1959: <br />1NHEREAS, the Village of Falcon Heights has lost one of its <br />most able, sincete and public-spirited civic leaders in the <br />death of Ralph Van Hoven, xho was Treasurer of the Village for <br />mater years after its incorporation and xho worked with the <br />Council on many committees and assignments after leaving that <br />offices <br />NONE THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village Council of the <br />Village of Falcon Heights shall, and it hereby does, note in <br />its official records, its tribute to the life and xork of Ralph <br />Van Hoven and its appreciation of his character and ability, <br />his untiring help and assistance in community matters and. his <br />very generous donations of time and energies to the Village and <br />its citizens; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be ten- <br />dered to his bereaved family. <br />The above resolution xas moved by Utecht, seconded by Warkentien <br />and carried. <br />Falcon Woods Letter of April 10th from Attorney Graham, regarding Falcon <br />Escrox Fund Woods No. 2 Escrox Fund, was read. It advised: I~ir. Gage is en- <br />titled to a refund of X2,768.30 upon depositing a Performance <br />Bond in the amount of 1-1/2 times the estimated balance of xork <br />to be done of ~5,1~80.71, or X8,221.06. He has received bond from <br />Mr. Gaffe, dated 3/23/59, Gage Construction Company, principal, <br />and Aetna Casualty and Surety Company, as surety running to the <br />Village of Falcon Heights in the amount of X8,221.00 given to <br />guarantee that the streets in Falcon Woods No. 2 xill be finished <br />in accordance with village requirements. This bond states any <br />suit under bond must be instituted prior to 3/23/bl. Mr. Graham <br />has checked the work with Engineer L~ungren xho assured him the <br />necessary xork will be completed this year and the 3/23/61 date <br />in the bond will be satisfactory from the Village's standpoint. <br />It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by Coppini and unanimously <br />voted that xe follos-bdr. Graham's suggestion and mail our check to <br />Gage Construction Company in the amount of ~2,7b8.30. <br />Attorney Graham's letter further pointed out: The Treasurer's <br />statement for 3/31/59 showed the amount in the Falcon Woods No. 2 <br />Escrow Fund is ~3,0lt3.30. This is #275.00 more than the refund. <br />He is satisfied this X6275.00 is the amount Gage xas to pay the <br />Village for gravel. This amount should be credited to the Road <br />& Bridge Fund to clean up the account. <br />Water Exten- Attorney Graham's letter of April 13th xas read.
