SPECIAL MEETING AUGUST 25, 1959. 1282A <br />Meeting was called to order at 5:15 P. M., the following Council Members being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, <br />Trustee. Absent: William R. Utecht, Clerk and Paul Coppini, Trustee. <br />Larpenteur Village Engineer Vernon L. L~ungren, presented his report <br />Avenue of Tabulation of Bids for the Larpenteur Avenue Water Main <br />Water Main Improvement as received on August 24th, 1959, as follows: <br />Extension <br />Herbst Construction Co. ffi50,006~00 <br />Montgomery Construction Co. 60,300.00 <br />Lametti & Sons 61,188.00 <br />Robert W. Moore & Austin Keller 78,119.00 <br />and recommended that the contract be awarded to the low <br />bidder, Herbst Construction Company. <br />After discussing the improvement further a t some length, <br />Shavor moved and Warkentien seconded that the award of the <br />contract be made to the Herbst Construction Company at the <br />bid of ffi50,006.00 and that the following resolution be <br />adopted: <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the <br />improvement of Larpenteur Avenue by the extension of water <br />main, the bid of Herbst Construction Company in the amount of <br />X650,006.00 was received complying with the advertisement <br />AND WHEREAS it appears that Herbst Construction Company, <br />1550 Highway 10, Minneapolis, 21, Minnesota, is the lowest <br />responsible bidder, <br />NG~IV THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVID BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA: <br />1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed <br />to enter into the contract submitted with Herbst Construction <br />Company, 1550 Highway 10, Minneapolis, 21, Minnesota, in the <br />name of the Village of Falcon Heights for the improvement of <br />Lar^enteur Avenue by the extension of water main according to <br />plans and specifications approved by the Village Council and <br />on file in the office of the Village Clerk. <br />2. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to <br />return forthwith to all bidders the bonds or deposits made <br />with their bids, except that the deposit of the Herbst Construc- <br />tion Company shall be retained until a contract has been signed, <br />Motion and Resolution adopted by unanimous vote as follows: <br />Nilsen-Aye; Shavor-Aye; Warkentien-Aye. <br />Financing of lt4ayor Nilsen reported on his conversation with Attorney Graham <br />Water Main regarding the handling of the financing of the pro3ect, and <br />Improvement upon Graham's recommendation it waa agreed that the Council <br />
