~~~~ <br />SPECIAL HEARING WATER MAIN SEPTEMBER 21st, 1959. <br />~.4eeting was called to order at 7:10 P. M,, the following Council Members being. <br />present: Harold. C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, <br />Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank <br />N. Graham, Village Attorney; Wm, E. Olsen, Treasurer; Vernon Ljungren, Village <br />Engineer; Nick Christensen, Building Inspector and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk. <br />Fry St. There were about 15 people from Fry Street present. Also Melvin <br />Water Pdain Spiegler, the Senior Mr. Spiegler and Attorney Tilsen. However, <br />Mr. Korstad, Chairman of the Maple Knoll Group was not present. <br />Upon being telephoned, Itgr. Korstad advised he hadn't had time to <br />contact all the people in Maple Knoll. Utecht moved that the <br />Hearing be continued until September 28th at 7:30 P. M. Seconded <br />b3' Nilsen and unanimously carried. <br />Water rain P.4r, Emil Anderson appeared before the Council regarding getting <br />Fairview water up to their lot. He was advised the corner lot, facing <br />Larpenteur on Fairview, would be assessed full width on Larpen- <br />teur and only 20~ of the depth up Fairview. Anderson's property <br />starts about 320' north of Larpenteur, which would mean they <br />would have to run the main up about 350' to reach the middle of <br />his lot. Ljungren estimated this would cost about 41815.00, T,~ir. <br />Anderson was advised the best way to proceed would be for him to <br />have a legal petition written up and take it to the residents <br />and land owners on Fairview.- 35<~ of the property owners would. be <br />sufficient for the Council to calla Hearing. <br />Hanson Lax Attorney Claybourn was in discussing the progress of the Hanson <br />Suit law suit which is being tried. He discussed the matter at length <br />with various members of the Council and indicated he will notify <br />Christensen, Ljungren, Nilsen and Shavor when they will be <br />needed in Court as witnesses. <br />Pumping Sta- Engineer Ljungren has not been able to obtain a suitable location <br />tion, for the pumping station. The matter was referred to Attorney <br />Graham xtio will contact the State Board of Health and the State <br />Fair Board as well as advising on whether the Village can over- <br />come deed restrictions on -the area back of Lido's and the Car <br />Wash so as to find a location. <br />Adjournment On motion, the meeting adjourned a.t 11:lt0 P.
