SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 5th, 1959. <br />~v ~~ <br />I~deeting was called to order at 8 P. M., the following Council Members being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, ~2ayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Va~illis "Markentien, <br />Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee and V'!m. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were `4~tm. <br />E. Olsen, Treasurer and Ethel E. V'y'hite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />tilTatermain Copy of Attorney Graham's letter of October 2nd to Poucher <br />Financing Printing and Lithographing Co., 322 So. 11th St., Minneapolis, Minn. <br />was read. It stated he was enclosing a copy of a resolution re- <br />lating to the issuance of the 467,000. Village of Falcon Heights <br />Larpenteur Avenue Watermain and Pumping Station Improvement <br />Series A Bonds. <br />Attorney Graham's letter of October 2nd to r.4ayor Nilsen was <br />read. It advised it would. be perfectly all right if the resolu- <br />tion is passed at the regular meeting, October 8th. The resolu- <br />tion was discussed at length but action was deferred until October <br />8th. <br />~_ <br />Salaries Gordon H. Nelson, Chief; Albert J. Helbig, Asst. Chief; Robt. A. <br />Fire De- Dowdell, Captain and Herbert G. Nelson, Lieutenant of the Falcon <br />partment Heights Volunteer Fire Department appeared before the Council to <br />request an increase in salary for the Paid Firemen. better of <br />October 5th, signed by the Paid Firemen and Officers of the <br />Volunteer Fire Department was read. It outlined sub-gested salary <br />increases. Wage Rate Review of the surrounding communities was <br />also presented, This was checked and discussed, It was agreed <br />that the Council would study the matter further and try to reach <br />a decision by Thursday ni~-ht when the Paid Men and Officers will <br />be present at 7 P.
