!''F <br />(_J ,hs <br />Planning In view of the fact that Nick Christensen, Building Inspector, <br />Commission had moved out of the Vi7.lage, it was felt that it would be <br />difficult for him to attend Planning Commission meetings although <br />he was willirsg to continue to serve on the inspecting. Due to <br />the circumstances outlined above, it was moved by Nilsen, <br />seconded by ti~trkentien and unanimously voted that Geo. N. Croft, <br />Jr., 1860 No, Tatum, a competent builder, be appointed to <br />succeed Nick Christensen as Building Inspector and to serve on <br />the Planning Commission. It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by <br />Shavor and unanimously voted that Nick Christensen be designated <br />as Deputy Building Inspector, and do the building inspecting. <br />It was moved by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen and unanimously <br />voted that Nick Christensen be commended for the very fine job <br />he has done as Building Inspector; also for his generosity in <br />donating a large portion of his Commercial Building Permit Fees <br />to the Playgrounds. <br />14atermain Engineer Ljungren reported the watermain had been completed <br />and tested satisfactory. There is still some driveway and <br />cleanup work to be done and he will contact the contractor in <br />this regard. Ljungren sugges+„ed that, the Fire Department be <br />furnished equipment for taking water pressures at the hydrants <br />and that a record be kept. He arras asked to study the matter <br />and make recommendations as to procedure. Ljungren advised he <br />had talked to Hermes Floral. Hermes have decided to abandon <br />their plan for a 5'k main, and =are making arrangements for a ~" <br />line. Ljungren also advised that their firm, r~Pilner V~, Carley <br />& Associates, had been named as Engineers for the State on the <br />Snelling Avenue and Zdaho tivork, including drainage. <br />Fire Dept. The discussion reverted to the Volunteer Fire Department and <br />the letters which had passed between the ntIayor and the Chief <br />as well as the Relief Association and it. was moved by Utecht, <br />seconded by Coppini, and unanimously voted that the ~.7ayor be <br />instructed to vrri±e a letter to the Chief of the Fire Iepartment <br />and review from the official minutes an d records of the Village <br />of Falcon Heights; and, in that letter, fully outline the action <br />of the Council in refusing to confirm Hal Newell for membership <br />in the Falcon Heights Volunteer Fire Dept. <br />Adjournment On motion, the meeting adjourned at 11:00 P. iVI. <br />Signed-~~~.-- -' <br />er . <br />Arproved ,G?~,~~_ . <br />n,~ yor, <br />1 <br /> <br />
