1505 <br />After discussion, it was moved by Warkentien, seconded by <br />Coppini and unanimously voted that the following Resolution <br />be approved: <br />RESOLVED, that the proper officers of the Village be, and they <br />hereby are, authorized and directed to purchase, with funds in <br />the Larpenteur Avenue Watermain Sinking Fund Account X10,000.00 <br />worth of Falcon Heights Watermain Improvement of 1960 No. 1 <br />Bonds, from Juran & Moody, Inc., at par and accrued interest to <br />date of purchase when these bonds are issued, and to purchase <br />with funds in the Sanitary Sewer Sinking Fund Account, ~li1,000.00 <br />worth of Falcon Heights Watermain Improvement of 1960 No. 1 Bonds <br />from Juran & Moody, Inc., at par and accrued interest to date <br />of purchase, when these bonds are issued, and to purchase through <br />the First National Bank of St. Paul with funds in the Sanitary <br />Sewer Sinking Fund Account approximately X9,000.00 worth of <br />Treasury Notes or Treasury Bills due in December, 1960 or January, <br />1961, and to deliver all of said bonds, bills and notes after <br />purchase to the First National Bank of St. Paul to beheld by <br />them in safekeeping for the respective sinking fund accounts. <br />WFH Play- Mayor Nilsen read announcement from the West Falcon Heights <br />ground. Sunday, September 25th. <br />Streets Copy of Attorney Graham's letter of September 6th to B. L. Gage, <br />Falcon Woods 17 Loring Road, Minneapolis, 26, Minnesota, w~~s read. Letter <br />No. 2 reminded Gage he furnished the Village with the bond of the Aetna <br /> Casualty and Surety Company, dated March 23rd, 1959, in the amount <br /> of $8,221.00 to insure that the streets would be completed in <br /> accordance with Village Specifications. Any suit under the bond <br /> must be instituted prior to March 23rd, 1961. The driveway in <br /> front of 1981 Summer is too high and will have to be lowered <br /> before the street will be accepted by the Village. If work is <br /> not completed immediately, we will have to take steps to make <br /> a claim under the bond. Suggested that Gage contact Bonestroo <br /> to determine nature and extent of work necessary, <br />Lauderdale Letter from Attorney Graham suggesting we write Lauderdale re- <br />Fire Contract questing that if any calls concerning fires come into their <br />Fire Department from the Falcon Heights area, they should be <br />immediately referred to the Falcon Heights Fire Department at <br />Mi. 6-5200. We cannot authorize runs bti~ their standby and <br />cannot pay for them. Such a letter was written to Lauderdale. <br />Variance Letter of September 8th from B. J. Rechtiene, 11184 W. Iowa Ave., <br />requesting a variance with respect to a fence which he proposes <br />to erect at the rear of his property at 111811 W. Iowa, was read. <br />After discussion, Coppini moved adoption of the following resolu- <br />tions RESOLVED that the request of B. J. Rechtiene for a variance <br />under Ordinance No. 17 to permit him to erect a fence, 72" high, <br />along the alley side of his residence at 1l~81t W. Iowa, is hereby <br />granted; the Council specifically finding that the granting of <br />such variation will not materially affect adversely Health, <br />Safety or General Welfare of Public or Private Property. Seconded <br />by Shavor and unanimously carried. <br />
