1509 <br />REGUI.A~t MEETING SEPT. 22nd, 1960. <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P. M., the following Council Members being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; Paul Coppini, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, <br />Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank N. Graham, Village <br />Attorney; Brad Lemberg, Engineer; Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer and Ethel E. White, <br />Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Absent: George J. Shavor, Trustee. <br />The Minutes of the regular meeting of September 8th were approved as submitted. <br />The Minutes of the special meeting of September 12th were approved as submitted. <br />Village Hall, The telephoned request of Northern States Power Company for <br />Use of. use of the Village Hall as a Meeting Place for a Study Group <br /> was relayed to the Council. The Deputy Clerk was instructed to <br /> advise Northern States Power Company that the Council regretted <br /> we could not grant them permission to use the Hall because the <br /> Village Hall, being Public Property, cannot be used for anything <br /> other than 'Public" use by such groups as Religious, Governmental, <br /> Political, Public Education, Red Cross, Civil Defense, and <br /> Youth Groups such as Boy Scouts, Teenagers, etc. <br />Ramsey County After discussion, it was moved by Coppini, seconded by Utecht <br />Sports Stadium and unanimously voted that the Falcon Heights Council write <br /> Commissioner Salverda expressing it's objection to the pro- <br /> posed Ramsey County Sports Arena in view of the problems that <br /> have been brought to light and the apparent excessive cost; <br />' <br /> also it <br />s opinion that the proposed location is unsatisfactory <br /> due to the fact that the development is North. <br />Budget A Special Meeting was set for 7:30 P. M. Wednesday, September <br /> 28th, for the purpose of working on the 1961 budget. <br />Certification After discussion, it was moved by Coppini, seconded by Warken- <br />Unpaid Sewer tien and unanimously voted that the following delinquent sewer <br />Rental rental accounts be certified to the County Auditor for <br /> collection with taxes payable in 1961: <br /> Ralph E. Johnson, 172l~ No. Asbury X25.50 <br /> Dr. Nick M. Klaers, 1810 No. Snelling Drive 36.75 <br /> Mrs. Marguerette J. Youngner, 1867 W. Larpenteur 36.75 <br />Sewer, Prior Copy of letter written September 16th by Otto Bonestroo to <br />Ave., Hermes Hermes Floral Co., Inc., 2001 W. Larpenteur Avenue, was read. <br />Floral. It advised plans and specifications for the Prior Avenue Sewer <br /> had been sent to the City of St. Paul and to the Minnesota <br /> Department of Health for approval. <br />Watermain Im- Letter of September 16th from Otto Bonestroo & Associates, Inc. <br /> <br />provement 1960 , <br />was read. It advised: A complete inspection of all the gate <br />#1 valves installed by Rivard Excavating Company by Tom Rawson, <br /> Inspector St. Paul Water Department ~ridyr Wyne of Rivard Exca- <br /> vating Company and B. A. Lemberg, our office. Each gate valve <br /> was checked for proper operation and all gate valve boxes were <br /> checked for vertical alignment. All were found to be installed <br /> as required. This letter is intended to relieve Rivard Excavating <br /> of any responsibility for damaged gate valve boxes prior to the <br /> start of the street resurfacing. <br />
