<br />presents George Shavor, Trustee; Paul Conpini, Trustee; Vdallis Warkentien, Trustee;
<br />Harold C. Nilsen, T:?ayor and VJm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were VJm. E. Olsen,
<br />Treasurer; Al I~"ortenson, Cle rk Elect and Ethel E. ti'Jhite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy
<br />Treasurer.
<br />The t~dinutes of December 8th, 1960 were a~~proved as correaaed. (Page 1536, 9th
<br />paragraph, "Conpini was in favor of squad car but favored Dodge.te was added.)
<br />Justice of Utecht moved the following citation: "UdHEREAS, Lloyd V.
<br />Peace, Resolu- Riley served as Justice of Peace for the Village of Falcon
<br />tion. Heights, Minn es~ta, from January 1951 to December 1960
<br />THEREFOP.E, BE IT P~ESOLVED Tha±, the Village Council hereby
<br />expresses, on behalf of the Village of Falcon Heights and
<br />it's citizens, thanks and appreciation to Lloyd V. Riley for
<br />his outstanding services to the community. Seconded by Shavor
<br />and carried unanimously.
<br />Police, Gun. 1Varkentien advised that Henry J. Dachtera turned in has gun,
<br />but kept his badge, as he would have need for it when called
<br />in to serve on special ocassions.
<br />Justice of Letter of December 13th from Attorney Bernard P. Friel, re-
<br />Peace, Jury garding payment of Jurors and V~itnesses was read. Utecht moved
<br />Trials. that the Attorney be contacted and asked to advise us, in writing,
<br />who pays the cost in the event the individual loses, and who pays
<br />the costs if the individual v;ins. Should the Justice costs be all
<br />inclusive to cover the trial, and whether under those circumstances,
<br />the Justice should not turn that money over to the Village and
<br />have trat money dispersed through the Village Office. Seconded
<br />by Conpini and carried.
<br />San. Sewer Sink- Letter of December lath from Attorney Graham vras read. It ad-
<br />ing Fund vised: There is a payment of 9fi64,736.58 due January 1, 1960.
<br />Vde have a balance in the Sanitary Sewer Sinking Fund Account of
<br />952,219.88. The First National Sank is holding in safekeeping
<br />~'~9,000.00 of U. S. Treasury Bills which will be paid off
<br />December 15th 1960, and another 937,000.00 of U. S. Treasury
<br />Bills which are due January 15th, 1961. He has directed the
<br />First National 'dank to cash in these bonds a.nd deposit the proceeds
<br />to our Sanitary Sewer Sinking Fund Account at the Falcon Heights
<br />State '3ank prior to Friday, December 23, 1960. This will make our
<br />balance in the account approximately 9fi~8,000.00. He has directed
<br />Eugene r~.4onick, the County Auditor, to advance to the Village the
<br />sum of :20,000.00 out of the Sanitary Sewer Assessment pa~nnents
<br />and bond and interest sinking fund by Tuesday, December 20th, 1960,
<br />if the October tax settlement has not been sent to the Village by
<br />this date. He directed that deposits be made as soon as checks
<br />are received, and that, a check be written payable to the American
<br />Na±ional Bank, in the amount of ~6~,736.58, dated December 23rd,
<br />delivered to him by Friday morning, December 23rd, for delivery to
<br />the American National Bank.
<br />Sanitary Sewer, Copy of letter from !3. C. Hard of '~ri~ ~s and Pllorgan, addressed to
<br />Damaged stubs, the County_Auditor was read. It advised. they were enclosing for
<br />filing, original and two copies of Notice of Claim Against Public
<br />Spiegler Pron.
