1555 <br />REGULAR r~SEETING JANUARY 12, 1Q61. <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P, ?~., the following Council Pdembers <br />being present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Paul Coppini, <br />Trustee; Willis '~farkentien, Trustee and A. W. Mortenson, Clerk. Also present <br />were Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer; Frank N. Graham, Attorney and Ethel E. White, <br />Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />The Minutes of the Special Meeting of December 29th, 1960 were approved as <br />submitted. <br />Audit: Wm. R. Utecht reported he had contacted Haskins & Sells, Certified <br />Public Accountants, and +„hat they had advised changing of the <br />examination to a later date would be of benefit to them, and that <br />while the charges would be based on the time required to perform <br />. the examination,'the price would be 10~ less than normal rates, <br />maximum billing 91,350.00. The matter was laid aside for action <br />at the next meeting. <br />Observers: Tom Mortenson, Anne Fyiurray, Carol Houle, Don Schroeder, Bob <br />Lawrence, Bob Ziegler and Dave Kile, all members of the Senior <br />Social Studies Class at Alexander Ramsey High School, who are <br />studying government, were present. <br />Sewer Bills: Mrs. White reported that the City of St. Paul had back-billed the <br />Villap~e for sewer rental on installations which had been completed <br />after the end of the June 30th quarter, i. e. July 1st, July 2nd, <br />July 6th and July 8th; and was advised to back-bill the residents <br />inasmuch as St. Paul had back-billed the Village. <br />Ballot boxes: Nilsen moved that the Village Clerk be authorized to purchase 6 used <br />Ballot Boxes at 92.00 each from the Village of New Brighton provided <br />they were in good condition. Seconded by Shavor and carried. <br />Sewer Rental The Deputy Cl~srk was authorized to order 3000 sewer rental billing <br />Cards: cards, the same as had in the east from Inter-City Printing Co, <br />Dog Control: Proposed contract submitted by B. & E. Patrol was referred to <br />Clerk rortenson for study and recommendation. <br />Hearing Snell- Trustee Coppini was authorized to contact the Reber boy in connection <br />Larp. under- with checking and operating the Recorder which is to be used at the <br />Hass: meeting on January 18th. <br />Board of It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by iFiarkentien and unanimously <br />Health: carried that Mrs. J. A. Kjelland be named to the Board of Health, <br />her term to expire 12/31/63, the Deputy Clerk to mail her a copy <br />of the Health Ordinance. <br />SC?+ROA: It was determined that W. A. Mortenson and George A. Shavor be <br />named Falcon Heights' Official Representatives at the meetings of <br />the Ramsey County P7uniciual Officials Association, with as many <br />other members of the Council a±~tending as p~>ssible. <br />Watermain: Mayor Nilsen and Attorney Graham reported on their conference with <br />~.4r. Lund, Vice President of the University of Minnesota, in charge <br />of physical plant, regarding Public Vrater. The University presently <br />
