1651 <br />PumA is mounted on wheels, equipped with a gasoline <br />engine, none of the working parts are exposed. It will <br />pump from 300 to 500 gallons per minute. Lemberg will <br />check the puma and advise Attorney Galvin if it is in <br />• working condition and., if so, Galvin will draw un the <br />agreement. It was moved. by Stone, seconded by Shavor and <br />voted that the Engineer and 1~ttorney be authorized to <br />proceed as outlined above and that the engineer be <br />authorized to meet with the fire department regarding hose. <br />' There was a citizen's committee present. The following <br />points. were brought out. The Citizen's Committee will <br />lay the sod if the Village provides it. There will be <br />steps from the small children's play area. to the sidewalk. <br />A wooden ramp to the skating rink is„being considered as <br />a temporary measure. Citizens will buy the physical equip- <br />. ment. The Village hopes to seed the banks next Spring. <br />They still have to be shaped. The warming house will be <br />set over in the Northeast corner. There will be two rinks. <br />• One for small children and non-hockey players. The other <br />- for hockey. Supervisors should see that the rinks are used <br />as specified. Citizens requested a light. The barricade <br />will be put back. Until the concrete steps can be put <br />in, Brad suggested that 3 or !~ 2x10s be used. It was re- <br />quested that the warming house be taken out. Nilsen <br />recommended that citizens talk to Warkentien regarding super- <br />vision. If the puma doesn't take care of the water, they <br />may have to fence the low area. The East,T~lest and North <br />banks will be seeded. It is a 3 to 1 slope and grass should <br />grow on it. <br />Budget, Fire The three paid men, Chief Nelson, Asst.. Chief Helbig and <br />Department Capt. '-3aden were present. It was decided to forego the <br />hospitalization insurance plan until the State comes out <br />with it's plan, and then take the matter up again. Sick <br />leave was discussed. It was decided that each case would be <br />decided on it's merits -- length of employment, devotion to <br />duty, value to the department, etc. Helbig suggested equal <br />nay scales for both firemen and police. Uniforms and vacations <br />were discussed. No decision was reached. The Council will <br />meet October 16th to try to resolve the ma±ter. <br />Attorney's report ?t?r. Friel drew up a suvey of Wending and past litigation. <br />Forty percent of the total time spent by the attorneys represent- <br />. ing the ViJ_lage during the month of September was spent <br />preparing and trying ordinance violations and traffic cases. <br />Bills: On motion by Shavor, seconded by hiortenson, the following <br />bills were ordered paid: <br />Board of Water Commissioners, relocate hydrant 326.89 <br />H.
