1655 <br />REGULAR ?:tEETING OCTOBER 26, 1961. <br />Meeting was called to order at 7 P. P.d,, the following Council bRembers being present: <br />Harold C. Nilsen, P:~iayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Willis ';':'arkentien, Trustee; <br />Charles P, Stone, Trustee; W. A. Mortenson, Clerk. Also present were Attorney M. J. <br />Galvin, V'lm. E. Olsen, Treasurer; and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />~Rinutes of the Special ?~Zeeting of September 25th were approved as submitted, <br />P,Sinutes of the Regular I~~ieeting of September 28th were approved as submitted. <br />?.~inutes of the Special rQeeting of October 2nd were approved as submitted. <br />Elections The following affidavits of candidacy were fileds <br />Wm. E. Olsen for Office of Treasurer. <br />Karold C. Nilsen for Office of mayor. <br />Charles P. Stone for Office of Trustee. <br />The Deputy Clerk was instructed to send notice to the <br />papers advising opening and closing dates for filing <br />affidavits of candidacy, also the offices that would be up <br />for election this year. <br />Snow-plowing, rinks Donald ~~,~erkel's bid of X5.00 per hour for man and jeep <br />and parking lot. for plowing snow on the skating rinks and parking lot as <br />needed was read. The Deputy Clerk was instructed to get <br />a bid from Baden's Pure Oil on the same work, <br />Sabbath ?3reaking Gerald Palmer and l~lendell W. ~daltby were present to discuss <br />ordinances to prohibit the sale of certain items on Sunday. <br />The matter was held. over for further study. It was brought <br />out that Pennsylvania has an ordinance that was upheld by <br />the Supreme Court. <br />Sewer stubs Attorney Galvin reported that it will be a year to 18 months <br />damaged by Herbst between the time the action is filed and when it will be <br />heard in District Court. <br />Sewer Connections There was a discussion regarding those sewer connections <br />not completed which have not yet been completed. Attorney Galvin will form <br />a letter to be sent to those people from whom the Village has <br />not heard. <br />~dunioipal State- Shavor moved adoption of the following resolution accepting <br />Aid Streets - Arona work: <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with C. S. <br />r.~cCrossan, Inc., ?:2inneapolis, Minnesota on July 13th, 1961 <br />for the improvement of Arona Avenue between Larpenteur <br />and Crawford, C. S.
