1706 <br />handling various Village problems. <br />Land Use Study It was moved by Stone, seconded by '+'arken tien ar.d. voted <br />that the Village have it's engin:~ers study the proposed land <br />use plan and make their recommendations before any action is~ <br />taken. <br />Sewage Dispos- Attorney Galvin reported that he and. Otto 3onestroo would <br />al ~~ attend the -eeting of the °;7etropolitan Sewage Commission <br />~ 1962, and report on same later. <br />Civil Defense: Nilsen reported tha± he and Civil Defense Director, Leo <br />ti'Teet, attended the Civil Defense rdeeting January °th at the <br />State '"raining Center. It was moved by Stone, seconded by <br />~Tarkentien and voted that the Falcon Hei~~hts Village Hall <br />be designated as the vrarehouse for the temporary storage of <br />Civil Defense shelter provisions and supplies, and that. Leo. <br />J. ti'ieet, Civil Defense Director, be named as the Government <br />Representative. <br />~PTeet reported he had talked vrith ?'aul ,TTagner, Drincipal of <br />the Falcon I?ei~-hts Elementary School and Pdrs. uackett. Z~dagner <br />plans to hve 11 groups walk +.,o their homes and have their <br />people take care of them. <br />Gordon Nelson, Albert Helbig and Donald Schoen of the Fire <br />Dep^rtment were present. There was a discussion regarding the <br />tank truck offered for Civil Defense Use. It is their o-pinion <br />that it would be wise to accept the truck, that, most, of the <br />work could be done by members of the fire department, and that <br />the truck could be put in operational condition for about <br />X500.00. <br />The follotrring resolution was moved by Stone, seconded by <br />is2ortenson and carried unanimously: <br />17HEREAS the Villane Council has been offered an opportunity <br />to purchase a used tank truck for ~1.U0 and other considera- <br />tion from R. C. Faber and <br />ti`tHEREAS the Fire Department has reco^?mended this purchase and <br />V~THEREAS the Council deems it necessary to investigate and <br />inspect said truck prior to acceptance <br />NOVV Tr?EREFORE THE VILLAGE COU~?CIL OF FALCON HEIGHTS appoints <br />the following members of the Council as a committee to investi- <br />gate and inspect said truck and if said truck is in acceptable <br />condition, accept said offer of sale and purchase it on ~oe- <br />half of the ~-'illage: C. P. Stone ~ Harold C. !`liken. <br />Fire Dept., Nelson, Schoen and Helbig showed the Council the area v~hich <br />extension of they feel they can serve without jeopordizing their responsi- <br />service: bilities in Falcon Heights i~~ith the present force plus tyro <br />day-time volunteers.
