SPECIAL rg:ETING OCTOBER 17, 1962, <br />1813 <br />Meeting was called to order at 8 P. rd., the following Council Members being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, ~:~Zayor; George Shavor, Trustee; VL'. A. rgortenson, <br />Clerk. Also present were B. Lemberg, Village Engineer; M. J. Galvin, Village <br />Attorney; and Ethel E. tii~hite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Absent: <br />Willis Warkentien, Trustee; and Charles P. Stone, Trustee. <br />Hearing Clerk Pdortenson opened the Hearing by reading Notice of <br />Crawford Hearing as published in the Rose Tribune September 27th. <br />Avenue Attorney Galvin advised notices were mailed to each of <br />Assessment: the residents affected, and affidavit of mailing is on file. <br />There were no appearances either in person or by letter ob- <br />jecting to the assessment. <br />On motion by Shavor, seconded by Mortenson, it was unanimously <br />voted to adopt the following RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESS?.ENT; <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to proper notice duly given as required <br />by law, the council has met and heard and passed upon all <br />objections to the proposed assessment for the improvement <br />of Crawford Avenue between Arona Avenue to Simpson Avenue <br />and the construction of curbs and gutters on Crawford <br />Avenue, <br />N04°I THe,REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED EY 'S'HE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, P.?II~TN,SOTA: <br />I. Such proposed assessment, a copy of which is attached <br />hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby accepted and shall <br />constitute the special assessment against the lands named <br />therein, and each tract of land therein included is hereby <br />found to be benefited by the proposed improvement in the <br />amount of the assessment levied against it. <br />2. Such assessment shall be payable in equal annual in- <br />stallments extending over a period of five years, the first <br />of the installments to be payable on or before the first <br />T~onday in January, 1963, and shall bear interest at the <br />rate of 6q per annum from the date of the adoption of this <br />assessment resolution. To the first installment shall be <br />added interest on the entire assessment from the date of <br />this resolution until December 31st, 1962. To each subse- <br />quent installment when due shall be added interest for one <br />,year on all unpaid installments. <br />3. The owner of any property may, at any time prior to <br />certification of the assessment to the county auditor, pay <br />the whole of the assessment on such property with interest <br />accrued to the date of payment, to the Village treasurer, <br />except that no interest shall be charged if the entire <br />assessment is paid within 30 days from the adoption of this <br />resolution; and he may, at any time thereafter, pay to the <br />county treasurer the entire amount of the assessment remain- <br />ing unpaid, with interest accrued to December 31 of the year <br />
