district is designed to be accessible to retail customers from the nearby neighborhoods <br />and the community, to be compatible with the character of the neighborhoods and <br />overall community, and to minimize the blighting influence on the surrounding <br />residential neighborhoods. <br />(2) Furthermore, the district provides for and encourages compact centers for retail sales <br />and services by grouping businesses into patterns of workable relationships that <br />complement each other. The district is designed to be easily accessible to users. It <br />excludes highway oriented and other high traffic volume businesses that would tend to <br />disrupt the cohesiveness of the shopping center or its circulation patterns and shared <br />parking arrangements. <br />(c) Permitted uses. No structure or land shall be used except for the following uses: <br />(1) Auto parts and accessory stores. <br />(2) Apparel and accessory stores. <br />(3) Beauty shops and barbershops. <br />(4) Bowling alleys. <br />(5) Coin and philatelic (stamp) stores. <br />(6) Commercial art services. <br />(7) Commercial photography services. <br />(8) Computer programming and data processing services. <br />(9) Dance studios, schools and halls. <br />(10) Eating establishments. <br />(11) Financial institutions and insurance establishments with hours open to the public no <br />earlier than 8:00 a.m. and no later than 6:00 p.m. An automatic teller machine may <br />operate 24 hours a day. <br />(12) Food stores, excluding the outdoor sales of produce, meat and seafood. <br />(13) Garment pressing, and agents for laundries and dry cleaners. <br />(14) Hardware stores. <br />(15) Health services, offices and clinics. <br />(16) Home furnishing, appliance and equipment stores. <br />(17) Laundry and garment services. <br />(18) Laundromats - self serve. <br />(19) Mailing services. <br />(20) Miscellaneous retail establishments, including antique stores but excluding fuel <br />dealers and gun shops. <br />(21) Motion picture theaters. <br />(22) Offices, business and professional.
